Does anyone actually want longer events? I'm seriously curious. I know I don't. I know some others who don't. I've never heard anyone asking for a longer one, but if you're out there speak up as this is your moment.
The only longer event type I could conceivably want is Faction. Definitely not Galaxy or Skirmish, because extending those just becomes a ploy to get people to burn/buy more chonitons. And Expedition is just an unenjoyable grind even when short.
I’d have no problem with a month long skirmish event as long as they didn’t change anything except getting rid of the long animations
A month long skirmish would be a nightmare. Essentially skirmishes are like expedition arena battles. All the tens of thousands of clicks you would need to do for a month event would be hellacious.
A month long skirimish where I was competing for rank would be AWFUL. A month long skirmish where I ignored the rank and played on occasion for free chrons/honor, sure. And that month long event would really expose how much DB needs to redo threshold rewards. Clear all thresholds the first day, then spend the next 29 days grinding for the sake of a 1/5.
Grinding for the sake of honor. Rank not so much
meh, the free farm is nice too.
just imagine the Holo count
I’m not in a fleet so I can’t speak on that
Create your own. Even if it’s just you, you can get some star base bonuses
That would disqualify me as fleetless
Which isn't actually a qualification for anything lol.
Hey man. Let me have this. It’s somethibg to shoot for
I totally admire your spirit! And wish you all the best!
Oh, man, I cannot *wait* to see what an Augment O'Brien looks like, heh. (I'd *doubly* love to see Augment Keiko.)
I know plenty of people have been kvetching about not getting Mirror Leeta during the Mirror event, and she makes 2/3 DS9 folks for the finale, so yay.
And another opportunity for Ice Pirates Riker! I'm a happy camper.
Ice Pirates Riker is the coolest and most obscure nickname for a card I've seen yet. I love it!
Ice Pirates is good, but to me, he looks like Tony Stark. I call him Iron Man Riker.

As for the upcoming event, I understand the unhappiness about the length of the event and will relay it.
The event coming after this will start on the usual day of Thursday, the announcement and the packs for it might be a bit delayed though.

Hey @Shan , with literally zero time between the end of the event and the time when the packs for the next event go on sale, the event announcement really needs to be sooner (with full details) rather than later, to give people time to prepare for it over the course of the 6 day event instead of having no time to prepare. At the absolute minimum let us know who the bonus crew are. That way if it's, say, Chakotay, people have time to work on the various versions.

Presumably that info will still go up on Friday.
I would hope so, but she did say the announcement might be delayed.

The announcement in game, with the splash screen etc.
The key info will be provided on Friday/Tuesday as per usual.
If the in-game announcement with splash, etc is delayed due to a very short turnover time between events and the DB staff being pressed to get it out - doesn't that just put more fuel to the fire that a 6 day event is not the greatest idea?
This event should have more threshold rewards that I’ll actually want to go for. For this type of a long event, they should throw in an exisiting 5 star at the very top of the threshold. Someone not in the event pack to get everyone to still buy the packs.
I’ll play this one based on the rewards, but I have no expectation of placing high enough in the ranked. It may be Bashir and out for me. The event is too long and too many different types. Despite my personal dislike for the format, I appreciate changes to events to try and keep things fresh.

Meh. Shan said we will still get the announcement here on Friday. That’s all I need

Will the event pack be delayed to after the start of the event? Because if you think people are mad about the length of the prior event and that we only get 24 hours to recover from such a marathon, you might be surprised in an unexpected way if the packs aren’t live by the event start time.

I can't imagine it would be more than an hour or so delayed. Just enough time to switch over the event screens/packs. Any later than that and they risk people not buying packs. People buy them the day before so they can level them and have them ready before the event starts. If the packs didn't go on sale until the event started they would be losing a lot of sales.

WIth how much you play you could really start a fleet of one just to use all the resources you farm...
My entire crew is fully equipped. The only missions I run daily are the cadet challenges. Other than that it’s just leveling any event crew I get which requires very little missions. I always have most of the components I need
Same except i do all dailies & am an officer in my fleet helping manage the starbase. Mostly ftp/monthly @102. The social has become a big part of daily play now.

I would love to have that much faith in the process, I really would.
I may be the only person around with this mentality, but -
I'm looking forward to it.
Yes.
It's different. We have, for 30 months, in some form or fashion asked for things to be different. This is certainly that. They've never done this before, so there will be some headaches. But, at the very least, I appreciate them going out of the comfort zone and being different.
Yeah, it's a very short runway between events afterwards, but at this point, folks know what they need to know. Strategics. Only 1000 people will rank well enough to get the gold across 3 different types. Those 1000 people will be the most exhausted going into the next event 24 hours later. Everyone else, and speaking with generalizations here, can look at the event and figure out where they want to 'tap out' so to speak.
Again, it's not all bad. None of us know anything and won't until we get underway and the whole event is over. Then, and only then, can there be appropriate griping if needed.

There may be some people who compete for the 4* and get exhausted there too. But yes, overall it'll be less than 3k competing and 10k+ going threshold and out. Just another side effect of the skewed reward structure, but I guess it works in DB's favor this time. Personally I'll have to see rewards for both events before deciding what I'm doing.

Who are you and what have you done with my podcast co-host?
<snip> Personally I'll have to see rewards for both events before deciding what I'm doing.
This is exactly what I'll be doing. At a minimum, I'll likely go to threshold max this week (preferably on expedition to save shuttle boosts for the future) and then decide how I want to proceed based on what the next event has in it.
We are recruiting for our sister fleet, Mirror Klingon Marauders! Contact me via private message if interested
Threshold. Maybe. If the rewards are good and it's the new character so I can get 4/4. Otherwise it's Darth and out.
I'm not excited about it. My fleet's not excited about it. As far as I can tell, there's a lone whale that's not disappointed and filled with dread.
Sure, glad to see new attempts to make the game interesting. But nonstop event is just too much. And with the history of bugs and this "implementation" of "agile", the chances of something going BOOM!! are uncomfortably high.
Someone please correct me if my memory is mistaken. But when the schedule of this Mega event was first posted. Wasn't Skirmishes listed as being one of the final week's events?

Triple Threat 2 (Galaxy) followed the Mirror Mega.
