Oh, I forgot Galen. Just brought him out of the vault. Somehow I lost my Tommy Gun Dixon when I was deleting people. Shoot, he was 2/4. I keep forgetting and airlocking him. Guess I will start over in collecting him for the cryo collection.
Hmm I am struggling for Event Crew this week. Guns Picard, Admiral Picard, Liason Troi, Robin Hood. Galen, Dixon Hill & Tommy Gun Dixon are all FFFE. I also have Locutus but only at 1/5* man, I need more Picards.
It's only a loss if I got nothing for airlocking. 600 honour will help go towards levelling up one of my 3/4 or 4/5 crew. I've got loads of them and not enough space for a character I know SFA about and have no interest in. Each to their own. If she's useful to you, great.

I can certainly understand being short on honor and trying to find any way to eek out one more citation. We all are short on honor. Always more crew that need stars than honor to finish them. At some point you might learn more about her character though and regret not having her. But to each their own. I guess you can get her later down the road if you change your mind.

Do we know Detmer's stats? I haven't seen them. I would recommend waiting to see if she'll be a better version of one of your other 3/4's. You know, because of stat creep. If not (or if you just like the old 3/4 for your own reasons), then don't bother with Detmer. But if you're sitting on a 3/4 Michael Sullivan, then maybe consider Detmer.

As Detmer is from Discovery she will be bonus crew in every Discovery event. Unless her stats are truly terrible she will be worth keeping. But you are right that we do not know the stats so tough to make decisions on a Tuesday.

I tend not to look too much at stats. Yeah they are useful but it's more for me about characters from the various series that I want to have. I can live with missing out on most of the featured crew as I don't want a random 1/5 star taking up space for example unless I really like that character. Same with a lot of 4 star characters. I'm more limited on slots than anything else (130 all full) and having to bin characters ive waited ages for that I've wanted to make room is not something I like to do.
For those wondering what to do with a 3/4 Detmer you should be getting a super rare citation soon in campaign. You can use that to take her to 4/4.
Still going to cite Fierce Guinan to 2/4 (and then eventually 3/4 and 4/4 as more campaigns bring in more citations).
There's no way I'll ever get her dilemma (and then I can always go for the other option McCoy, who I do not have) so she'll be 1/4 for ever unless I cite her.
She'll be frozen in less than 3 months ...
Detmer will join the 3/4 ranks and eventually get immortalised 2 years down the line when she's finally in the portal pool and I'm lucky enough to pick her up on a voyage.
I still have Dr. Gillan Taylor 3/4 ... ugh, just please drop so I can freeze you.
I just hope she's not a dud like Michael Sullivan or the latest Kim ... and will have some use during future events.

That's fair. I hope you get a slot increase soon. Which is also selfish because I'm ready for a slot sale. But out of curiosity, who will get your SR citation at the end of the campaign?

She'll also almost certainly have the Engineered trait, so there is potential value there in completing the collection (not the most difficult to complete, but still).

Haven't made my mind up yet. Possibly Prisoner Bashir, I've got about 8 or 9 others all FE at 3 stars so it will be whoever I want to do. Possibly Test Pilot Archer, Sheriff Worf. I haven't got round to buying into the premium track but I might do as the 5 star cite can go to Thrax or possibly Minuet.

I'll admit I'm not following DIS, but my understanding was that Engineered is for genetically engineered people, which Detmer wasn't; she just has a cybernetic part to replace a combat injury.

This would not quite fit in this case, take Airiam who is given the engineered trait and she is largely a cybernetic download of the person. It seems to cover both genetic and cybernetic manipulation. I think the key word is manipulation either genetically or in a cybernetic way, because Bashir was not born an augment he had genetic changes made to him during childhood if I remember correctly and also has the engineered trait.

I mean to be fair, we're trying to explain something DB did, not something Star Trek did.
But I would argue that "engineered" was a more encompassing and less "clan specific" way to say augmented, meaning someone who has been either enhanced or had biological components replaced with superior technological ones. It was evident that although Airiam was engineered to save her life, she still became a processing "powerhouse" on par with the ship's computer. Silly about her memory, though, considering a few episodes later they claimed to be able to fit the entire sphere database in the suit (thirty year old tech).
The question is, is Detmer's eyesight ENHANCED by the technological replacement? Would that then mean Geordi qualifies?
EDIT: Side note, putting aside Star Trek for a moment, we're soon going to be able to replace entire organs with cloned biological ones. The concept of replacing them with technological ones has always been more difficult to approach, because of the "tech-biological interaction problem." Realistically speaking, Star Trek would have likely mastered the biological replacement before the technological one. So you'd then ask, why not give Detmer a "real" eye? Well, obviously, because it doesn't look cool, and the show is all about looking cool.
My point is this: If she's got a tech eye, logically there's a very good chance it would enhance her vision BEYOND the capabilities of normal human eyes.
It is ironic I can just see the federation enrolment charter
Section 310.31 - should any organ become damaged in service we will only be able to replace it with a technologically enhanced one, we are the federation, your organs will be assimilated and perfected.
Hmmm sounds familiar.

I like to use the wiki page:

Everyone with “Picard” in their name plus Locutus, Galen, Robin Hood, and both Dixons.

You can really tell how they're toning down the yellow and blue stuff - look at how much the Picard art had.
Spot on. Took two years but worth the wait!
