I was riffing on Bones arguing with Admiral Morrow in III. I certainly wasn't being sincere, @Banjo1012!
Oh my bad. Everyone please don’t throw rocks at me but I haven’t really watched any Star Trek movies. I’ve tried but I just can’t like them like I do the shows

They're on my list, but re-watching TNG before STP starts up. I haven't seen them yet, so I'll shield you from a few digital stones.

NO MOVIES!?!
NOT EVEN FIRST CONTACT AND VOYAGE HOME!?!
I’ve tried. I can’t get into them. The TNG movies, the characters just don’t act the same and I can’t get into it. But it was funny when Geordi said “I went to Zefram Cochrane High School”. I think that’s when they had to stun him, the TOS movies are better. But I guess I was too all about Star Wars then
Speaking of the movies, Fathom is screening the original theatrical cut of TMP next month. It does have Stephen Collins, but he shouldn't get any money from ticket sales unless he had a doozy of a contract, so it's a guilt-free outing.

We need an intervention for Banjo. I want you to know that we care about you Banjo and you do not have to live like this. Can't you see how this behavior is destroying you?
In all seriousness, have you tried turning off the movie after an hour then watch the other half the next day? Pretend it is a two-parter trek episode? Have you tried the JJ movies? They are unlike the others. Do you like other movies or are you not a movie person? It is ok if you just like watching trek shows. Trek is for everyone. I will try not to think less of you. Hehe.

Even if you can’t make it through the movies in their entirety, have you at least watched clips from each? TMP may be skippable unless you want to watch several hours of 70s special effects porn, WoK has the epic submarine battle at the end, SfS has the bar and prison break scenes, Voyage Home has the colorful metaphors, Final Frontier has a lot of funny Kirk/Spock/McCoy moments, Undiscovered Country has Christopher Plummer dropping tons of Shakespeare (plus the dinner scene), First Contact has Drunk Troi, and Nemesis has a young Tom Hardy.
(Yes, I skipped Generations and Insurrection in that list since I couldn’t think of any particular scene from Generations that I feel is truly iconic - unless you really love Malcolm McDowell - and Insurrection was hot, steaming garbage.)

In Generations i liked the scene where the Enterprise is fighting against the Duras-Sisters and Data has his emotionchip activated. I also liked Riker as acting captain and Data wa just hilarious.
I started this on another thread and I gotta say yesterday it seems I was able to cross off another on my bucket list making nice with another player after such a long time after coming off a certain medication. Real life folks it happens. But no person wants to go to their grave knowing someone dislikes them, at least I would hope so. So to that player....Thanks for understanding
Your father would have been proud of you.
Now for that elusive Caretaker, DB must know it's my last check off before exiting.
SHAAAAAAAAAN!!!
😂😂
I can’t. I just can’t. They’re not the same as the shows. They are not as good.
I can understand feeling that the movies are different from the series. They emphasized action over social commentary, but I think this is somewhat overblown in the minds of a lot of fans, as both series had their fair share of action (especially TOS).
I don't agree they aren't as good, though. Generations is fun and has some solid thematic ideas and dialogue, and First Contact is a fantastic romp. I love TNG, but it had its share of mid-range episodes and even clunkers that even the weakest movies (Insurrection and Nemesis) fit in with. There is an imbalance between Picard & Data versus everyone else, though, and I totally get being disappointed by that.
As for the TOS movies, I love 'em in large part because the show was always about the camaraderie between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy and so are the movies. In particular, I feel that III and V both do a great job showcasing those dynamics so familiar from the show, as well as their humor. The show always had a lot of action, too, so that emphasis in the movies feels natural. I do miss the show's aesthetics, though.
For me it’s, as I’m sure everyone knows by now, an 11 hour voyage. Secondly it’s reaching Captain Level 99.
You did it didn't you.😂😂😂
I have reached neither yet. I hit 10:58:40 exactly twice. I suspect it’s a glitch because it’s an amazing coincidence. One time I was watching it happen. I still had a little voyage left but the time just stopped there as my voyage kept going. So although it feels like I reached it, technically I have not
* Immortalize all Quarks. I need one more star on Martian Quark and three more on Convergence Day Quark.
* Immortalize all Garaks. I need three more stars on Obsidian Order Garak.

Guess what my favorite Trek show is...
The best one, obviously.
I want to get an immortalised 5* Ezri Dax, but as long as there is no one in the Game, i go for an immortal Jadzia and Klingon Bride is the only one i have. So i will finish and watching her while waiting for Beta-Canon Captain Ezri Dax.
I can’t. I just can’t. They’re not the same as the shows. They are not as good.
@Banjo1012 -- I understand the sentiment, but it really does vary from movie to movie. Some of my favorite moments in Trek are in the movies. The ST:2-4 story arc was great, First Contact was awesome, and ST:6 The Undiscovered Country is my favorite of all. You should give them another try.
New goals:
☑️ Immortalize MJLP once
☑️ Immortalize MJLP twice
⬜ Immortalize MJLP thrice
So you were responsible for Mirror Picard being in the campaign. Not cool.
Haha! I forgot my #sarcasm. He popped up in a behold for me and a fleet mate. First I picked one of the other options. Then I realized I might get a laugh or two here.

Hehe I know you don't work for DB. I hope next Mirror Picard is this one from First Contact.
I would like to be the first to immortalize someone but those five people that do it every time are sooooooo fast and have all the items and ciatations beforehand.
My goals in this game keep evolving, which I think is natural. These are the ones I'm working on now, which should keep me busy at least through the end of the year:
1. Make 10-hour voyages regularly (I've only done it 5 times so far).
2. Finish remaining skill-reward collections -- Spit & Bailing Wire (Jury Rigger) and A New Challenger Approaches (Gauntlet Legendaries)
3. Immortalize a legendary version of all the captains -- (Sisko, Picard, Janeway all done; still need Kirk, Archer, and . . . Burnham, I guess)
4. Immortalize a legendary of every top-two skill set:
Done: CMD-DIP, CMD-SCI, CMD-SEC, DIP-CMD, ENG-CMD, ENG-SEC, ENG-DIP, SEC-CMD, MED-CMD, MED-SEC, MED-DIP, SCI-ENG, SCI-CMD, SCI-DIP
Need:
- CMD-ENG (Plan is to cite up Braxton)
- CMD-MED (No option available)
- DIP-SEC (Plan is to cite up Quinn or Dahar Master Kang)
- DIP-MED (Plan is to cite up Humbled Archer)
- DIP-ENG (Plan is to cite up Bridge Officer Number One)
- DIP-SCI (Plan is to add stars to Evolved Janeway)
- ENG-SCI (Plan is to win more copies of the Caretaker in Gauntlet)
- ENG-MED (Hoping for the White Rabbit to come my way)
- SEC-SCI (Plan is to cite up Gladiator Spock or Klingon Janeway)
- SEC-MED (Plan is to cite up Tactical Officer Neelix)
- SEC-ENG (Plan is to cite up Saboteur Garak)
- SEC-DIP (Plan is to add a star to Covert Operative Leland or cite up Musketeer Picard)
- MED-SCI (Plan is to cite up Dr. Katharine Pulaski)
- MED-ENG (Hoping for Imprinted Archer or a new crew with better stats to come my way)
- SCI-MED (Plan is to cite up The Keeper or hope for Phlox au Naturel/Juliana Tainer to come my way)
- SCI-SEC (Plan is to cite up Away Team Saru or hope for Gary Seven to come my way)
This was a great thread, and I'm now using my post to track my own progress. A couple updates:
1. With the arrival of Q as "God", he now takes over the MED-SCI slot where I was planning to cite Pulaski. This is great news, as I will be able to complete this goal with one citation instead of four.
2. With this event focusing on the Q Continuum and Scoundrels, I'm considering prioritizing citations for Quinn or Saboteur Garak. I might hold out to see if I win Q2 (and pull a second copy next week), as he might beat out Quinn for the DIP-SEC slot. Advice on this point is welcome.

Quinn probably won't turn up in many future event bonus crews, so what's more valuable to you: Maximizing his use in August or Garak's long term?

If we ever get another Ezri, I've considered bribing those five to hold back.
