I just claimed my bundle from an email. You have to claim it by March 16.
I still haven't received the bundle. What did it contain, does it vary per player?
Everyone gets the same. There is a notice over in Communications.

Do you actually think these companies care about your reviews?
When it prevents new players from downloading their game, they had better care. From someone who's spouse runs an internet business, I can assure you that a few bad reviews can tank a small company quickly. He works really hard to make sure every last customer feels great about how they were treated. Not doing so is death for online entities. TP could learn a lot from his business model.
BTW, it's not just mine. Somewhere around 100 were posted on Google Play in the past day. Do you think they didn't notice?
I just wanted to pop in to report that one of my long-time fleet members, one of our early players, and somebody who has really put their heart and soul into building not only our fleet but also our team spirit just messaged me to announce they are quitting over this issue. I am truly saddened by this, I understand their reasons and respect the decision, I'm just sad. Like, truly sad. I have no more words.
I’m sorry you’re losing a game friend, Bylo. You’re a gentleman with a lot of heart. I’m not sure what my own prognosis is. I know I’m dialing back for awhile.
Some fleets took tremendous advantage of the exploit through social media/discord, that exponentially magnified the issue and disadvantaged honest players. A 72 hour ban is NOT the end of the world, getting off scott-free would be a stab in the back to every player who didn't click 80 times... I hope Wicked Realm doesn't give in to crybabies or bullies.
Maybe actually reading everything before making a blanket statement would help in your perspective. Also, this was not an exploit; it was a feature that appeared in game and open to anyone who saw it. As per the TOS, the players are not at fault for a screw up by the programmer and TP suspending accounts breaches their own contracts with players. The fact Google Play is now looking into this says a whole different story than what TP is trying to spin.
That really is the difference here, isn't it? I don't see how this could possibly be a TOS breach.
Precisely. The only TOS breach that was performed was by TP putting a three day ban on any and all accounts who dared to have clicked that button at least one other time.
This appears NOT to be the case, as I was not banned, and I (unknowingly) clicked the button however many times. I figured it might be a bug, but as has been previously stated, it didn't say "claim", it said "buy me".
I was helpful to DB in solving the Voyage multi-rewards bug, so I don't know if that awarded me some immunity to this problem, or if they simply did not have the resources to track down all players that took the red pill. I also have spent over 4-figures into this game, and though I don't see myself quitting because of my love for ST and all of the real friendships I have formed here, I am thinking twice before I spend any more.
Thank you for lifting the ban after the problem was fixed. I wish that could have been sooner, but such is life. Please work on messaging in the future. Implying questionable morals was a bad move. Transparency would have been better. Inform the community an error was made on your end. State that those who exploited the bug created an imbalance. Say that the accounts were suspended (banned was such a poor choice of words, as Banjo pointed out) to correct the imbalance, not as a punishment. If you thought it would take 72 hours to fix, then say so. Players would have been understandably upset. But it couldn't have possibly been as bad as what actually happened and the ill will that resulted.
Thank you for listening and ending the suspensions early. I'm very happy in that regard. This was a very unfortunate test for you, devs. I wouldn't give you a passing grade, but I hope enough was learned to better inform your decisions for future bug exploits. I understand and appreciate that you had to make a quick decision and didn't have the advantage I do of hindsight. But in the future, you'll be able to look back at this. It'll live in infamy alongside (if not atop the list of) the worst game controversies.
Did we even name this? Gift-gate? The Constellation Crisis of '21? The Valentine's Ban? '21 Ban Street?
BuyGate.
In honour of the "BUY AGAIN" button THEY put in the game......
1. Thank-you for lifting the ban. This is important and shouldn’t be lost in all the noise around this issue.
Given it was TP’s coding error that led to the debacle it is a shame that it took so long though.
2. Now rather than people “exploiting” it was because people were putting a strain on the system. Hmmm. Doesn’t quite ring true and definitely doesn’t tally with the messaging from TP about why people were banned for 72 hours. After the initial spike during the glitch there would be extra traffic as so many people were getting packs, it then it goes back to normal.
An open acknowledgment that you made a mistake, over reacted, banned people for an excessive amount of time compared to other instances where people have been banned, didn’t apply the ban consistently and that you will take learning from this would have been better. I am not holding my breath.
3.The current event is borked for many - individuals, squads and fleets. Not much can be done about that so we have to **tsk tsk** it up. Or maybe TP could make a gesture over and above the 19 parity ISM thingy pack and maybe give everyone a free 10 legendary pack and a legendary citation to show that the community genuinely matters. No? Too much you say you have already given us the 19ism packs. I refer you to the hundreds of comments on the forum and the hundreds of 1* reviews on Google play and other arenas publicly stating you don’t care about your player base. A gesture like this would go a small way to you showing that you do actually understand the impact of what you have done and want to try and make amends.
4. As a level 99 player of 4+ years and VIP 14 I have given a lot of thought to whether I should quit or not because of TP’s actions, which I wholly disapprove of - they were disproportionate, hasty and ill-thought through. Further compounded by the delay (over 24 hours ) in acknowledging they had messed up and revising the ban. This is not how you demonstrate that you value your customer base.
I am going to keep playing because as admiral I have a duty to my fleet; I have made friends from playing STT and enjoy being part of a community of like-minded people who love Star Trek. However I will NOT be spending a penny more for the foreseeable future. If TP radically alters their approach to customers and starts treating players properly I may consider reviewing that.
Thanks for reading. Not as eloquent as some, but I wanted to make sure that TP is aware that the player base is glad that the ban has been lifted but that TP’s actions have consequences.
*personally not banned but was on strike in solidarity.
I kind of hope (but am not holding my breath) that they did all they could do on a Friday and there is more to come. Hopefully they want to regain some enthusiasm for the new feature. Maybe they'll work on that Monday and roll it out Tuesday. Time will tell.

I genuinely hope that you are right. My sense now is that once that bug was out in the wild, someone saw their Great Experiment sidle out of Spacedock making some clunky bathtub noises and snapped their swagger stick.
Hope that is the case.
I am glad that TP is trying to introduce new features and breathe some life into the game. Personally I am underwhelmed with crew retrieval as been playing a long time but can see it’s benefits to players who have fewer crew in their roster. The game playing is initially confusing and (of course) will require money to be spent to make things happen even vaguely quickly. If TP was hoping this was the magic bullet to bring in even more revenue they have slot themselves in the foot with the less than clear commas around it, frustrating UI (too many buttons to click now and not intuitive) and the fact that the ban has resulted in many players openly saying they won’t spend any more money with TP.
I rally hope TP is going to do more than they have so far in response to the mess they caused. My hope is rather slim though. They have a VERY limited window and it needs to happen ASAP.

I shall be changing my title to reflect being banned for 72hrs and proud! TP made the mistake I continued to click the buy button expecting to see some figure dropping to correspond with the cost, I looked at my dilithium, credits, ISM, Merits, chronitons etc looking for which resource was being depleted. Then I continued to click away. I am by no way a whale but can rank in the top 100 regularly. Any previous errors players were rewarded extras, there was no warning that a consequence was a 72hr ban. Please update all players with TP's punishment regime for breaches of their own making. What's the next ban after 72hrs?

I didn’t wade into this thread until after the fix was made last night, but some of my thoughts from when I found out a friend got banned still apply.
Battlestar Galactica, S2E10 “Pegasus” - Colonel Fisk, right before the end of the episode: “Admiral, this will spiral out of control fast.”
We went from confusion at how Crew Retrieval was going to work, to excitement at how polestars could be combined to target crew, to the torches ‘n’ pitchforks brigade running rampant - all in a few days. And despite walking back a lot of the most negative parts of the whole fiasco, the number of people who are scaling back their time/spending or just leaving entirely never to return mean that the effects will linger for some time.
Regardless of the debate over how many taps on that Buy Again button are required to transition from curiosity and honest confusion to being an evil hacker thief, the root problem is the giant ban-hammer dropped after that. It wasn’t just that it was seemingly applied indiscriminately, it’s the length of the ban...even when reduced to 24 hours instead of 72, this is way out of proportion to what’s been done previously. Take advantage of a bugged dilithium deal? No big deal, we’ll just remove the dil from your inventory and move on. Using disallowed automation tools to cheat to the top of event rankings? Meh, maybe an 8 hour ban. Abuse a slightly broken game feature to rack up voyage rewards that are 10-50 times what you would normally get? We’ll fix that someday. Get some extra constellations, cash, and ISM to yield polestars that can’t even be used due to the slow rate at which Quantum recovers (or would lead to massive sales of dilithium)? Not only do you no longer have the privilege to participate in this weekend’s event, we’re punishing everyone in your fleet by making it that much harder to get ISM...and we’ll take any Crew Retrieval resources you legitimately earned before the bugged offer went up.
Those last two irked me the most - why punish fleet members for the behavior of others and why not only remove items obtained from the actual bug? It’s bad enough that the punishment for those who hit that button more than once is grossly disproportionate to past activities that did more harm to more players, but then to go two steps beyond that to both the offenders and anyone associated with them is just unconscionable. It’s not a reasoned, planned response to a bug exploit, it’s a toddler stomping on an ant hill because a single ant touched their sandwich.
Despite the change of tack between the initial ban and last night, this reflexively draconian behavior nodes ill for the future. What other honest mistakes on the part of the dev team will be weaponized against the player base? It takes a little (or a lot) of the shine off of the general state of the game right now...for example, now that I have a better understanding of how Crew Retrieval works I am excited for the possibilities it has. There have been a lot of much simpler solutions proposed for the problem it fixes, but those solutions didn’t introduce an element of strategy to the game...now I have to put together a list of crew I want to go after and figure out the best way to get each one with the resources at my disposal. This is neat.
But my excitement is tempered by concern...when the 19x offer went up, I was worried about having to count how many I cashed in, just in case that button came up a 20th time and caused me to eat a ban and lose all of my polestars. That feeling of having to walk on eggshells any time something new is introduced bodes ill for future updates to Crew Retrieval or any other additions planned for the future.
This bug RESPONSE has been WOEFULLY INADEQUATE AND INSULTING. IT WAS NOT exploited by a small number of players, AS IT WAS YOUR MISTAKE. I (the wallet) AM looking at disciplinary actions for those involved as exploits BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE goES against our terms of service.
WE WILL BE KEEPING OUR BAN ON SPENDING FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
Stop yelling and speaking for everyone. I, for one, will continue to spend moderately as I have been in the past.
Is this your wallet speaking? No, she only speaks for herself and me. The caps were to show the edits, not yelling. Sorry it offended you but I never said I was talking for everyone, you just assumed that. Do what you want with your money I really dont care
Yeah. This is an interesting hill for TP to make its stand on. Not the people who used macros, not the people who used iampicard, not the bugged dil offer, but a free reward that isn’t worth that much to most players.
Congrats, TP on your biggest mistake yet! How will you be able to top that?

"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Shan has clearly decided to treat this like the AND bug. Ignore every thread and hope that is goes away.
It's not on the same level. A fully documented and proven bug being ignored is nowhere near as egregious as the cravenness of hiding under a table after they lit the fuse that burned the house down. It's pure, unadulterated cowardess and that applies to everybody at WRG/TP who has any authority in the decision including @Shan because I don't believe for one second that Shan was not involved in some capacity.
Except initially Shan was sending emails calling people "rude and a cheater". So he is involved at some level. At the very least he is trying cover for his buddies.
Maybe if by the 14th page you realized Shan was a woman and stopped referring to her as a he you would have had better luck.
I remember back in the day thinking Shan was a dude. 😆 🤣
As I posted in our fleet chat, somewhat edited: Seems like a lot of our people (self included) are saying they’re (we’re) cutting back on play and/or spend. I think TP/WRG has more to do to get people to want to do both again. That more to do (other than better compensating people for what they lost) is trust rebuilding, not throwing some more handfuls of sorrypak goodies at everyone and thinking it’s good.
What could/should that look like? I don’t know what would pacify the rest of the mob. DB/TP/WRG 1) has had Full Foul Ups before that they tried to gloss over, and 2) this was such a grotesque breach of trust and the customer relationship (i.e., blaming the customers for their sloppiness.)
Me, I’m a weird mofo who overthinks, so I’m atypical. I think I’d be good with an apology that actually sounded sincere, and a layperson’s postmortem of what went wrong and their corrective action plan to ensure it doesn’t repeat. I wasn’t personally punished, so I could do/could have done without any free sorrypaks. To me, trust is more important than free stuff. Again, I am old skool that way and many are the reverse.
Things that won’t do it: another sorrypak of constellations or even quanta, which is the monetizable bottleneck designed into the feature, or another free legendary. Or sending Shan out to blast out another insincere sorry/not sorry half-apology written by the middle-management jerk who likely brought this down in the first place.
Right now without any further acknowledgment or apology, my back of the envelope estimate is that long term, this debacle thins the player base by 10-20%, spend by 15-25%. And that might be enough to kill the game.
Are you banning my friends because of your programming error?
I'd save $60 a month I'd otherwise waste on Premium Reward Tracks & monthly dilithium cards as I have for the past year... I'd no longer spend eight hours everyday playing three separate accounts, waiting to hit the 2X multiplier to watch your ads... And the other 49 players in my level 94 fleet feel the same way.

This was your mistake Shan. Say you're sorry.
@Shan isn’t the villain here. She’s just the delivery girl, sent out to deliver bad messaging that was likely written by the incompetent, power tripping middle management jerk who orchestrated the ban in the first place.
She is the mouthpiece for the jerk, though, and I hope she’s relaying the sentimebt of the boards on this.

Given this entire turdstorm and who got stuck at the sharp pointy end of the whole thing, I sincerely hope @Shan got the chance to knock back a caseload of Romulan ales with Tranya chasers this weekend.
Just sayin’. 🤷

I’ve been where she is. Working for a sociopathic being and/or organization, and having to deliver its edicts as your own decisions and be tarred by their stupidity and venality, **tsk tsk**. If I could, I would wish her a wine cask with a tap on it.

Knowing how corporations work, be they large or small, I am quite sure that the atrociously insulting wording of that first communication was penned by someone a step or two above her as a fâit accompli. Probably by the one who screwed the pooch on the bug to begin with and was in full on panic mode themselves.

No Timelines hybrid events, pole stars or constellations for me today. I'm going to play Hades Gate for eight hours.

Only slightly less worse than the repeated "hes", even after being corrected, is the difficulty spelling a four letter name!!!!!

Knowing how corporations work, be they large or small, I am quite sure that the atrociously insulting wording of that first communication was penned by someone a step or two above her as a fâit accompli. Probably by the one who screwed the pooch on the bug to begin with and was in full on panic mode themselves.
As Ween once said...
It’s a p!$$ poor life to be workin’ for The Man...
... and I am one of those most active people, managing and motivating a full fleet and my own three accounts for 8 or more hours everyday... and now you'll punish me for being here too much? That doesn't make sense.
No Timelines hybrid events, pole stars or constellations for me today. I'm going to play Hades Gate for eight hours.
