I usually use Picard and Number One for Sci nodes, but the final back-to-back means I'll need to equip a second Sci crew to clear the penultimate node, as otherwise I'm failing the final node even with 4 quipments.

Anyone who had 3 in the "how many MED nodes this week?" sweepstake, congratulations, you are a winner and your share of the prize is one basic replicator ration.

This week has a total of 18 com databases. That's not even enough to fully quip one crew.
  • I like that we get a legendary but getting dilithium now will be harder. For some people the weekly dilithium was a great way to get to 1500 dilithium for discounted crew slots. I'm kind of two minds on the change, I also wonder if they'll update it every month which I hope they do.
  • Better have the same legendary for 5 consecutive weeks. Otherwis BQ will sit at 1/5 until the next portal update and then sit a lot longer until she has all the stars.

But I agree, DIL would still be better, especially for those of us who do the second round of clearing the rewards.

They will never do the legendary for five weeks, always four so they sell DYC.

when have they ever given away a 100% free gold?

Sad. We finally got a steady flow of dilithium and now you've destroyed it. And we naively invested in tanks...Never trust WRG, not even when he brings gifts.

I wrote in November that the Dil would not last forever.

It is easy to complete continuum every week with only three containers, spending only a nominal amount of chrons. Buying the fourth is a good idea, but the fifth is a luxury for those with limited dil.

I do like the idea of them giving us a legendary, this is a card collecting game.

I also see they have confirmed we will be getting 4/5 cards.

The issue going forwards is the lack of med nodes week after week.

Agreed. The dilithium was basically free money, there's no way they were going to keep that going. It was a loss-leader, to get us invested in continuum missions.

If they're going to keep giving us new crew I'm all in favour of that. Especially if they're as good as UBQ. Which they won't be, she's another loss-leader. Next month's will be tier 2 or 3 (at best), then it'll go downhill fast. But continuum is basically giving us free stuff in conjunction with interesting gameplay, so I'm trying not to look the gift horse in the mouth.

MED nodes will continue to be an issue, just because MED has always been scarce in the original missions that continuum is drawn from. I don't think there's much they can do about it, short of giving us a new MED-heavy episode that they can take missions from. Which isn't a bad idea, but it's a long-term solution at best.

As I suggested another thread. Give McCoy a decent piece of personal Quipment.

If we make it +700 (240-300) med, and make it cheap to build, then it could alleviate the problem for many players. Maybe a couple of pieces of Quipment for other Med crew.

This would not off balance the game, as single skill crew are very limited.

Why don’t they ever start on time?
Seriously. I stay up late every week to start them and am disappointed almost every time.

Hey, it's not three MED nodes this week ...

    It's only two.

No. They don't. That's not even the time that they claim to start.

I played at 5:01 this morning. You need to restart the app if you aren’t getting the new missions to load.

I played it this morning around 4:30 am EST.

I've found that you have to restart the game/app in order to get the new missions to show up (much like getting expired quipment to clear). For example, I woke up at 7:30am est this morning and it was showing the old missions and giving me an error if I tried to start them. After restarting, I got the new missions.

Having said that, I have tried staying up to go after them right at 1am est. And they have not worked properly for me, restarting the game or not. So there is clearly a problem, or the actual restart time isn't being displayed.

Last note: in terms of thinking ahead, remember clocks are changing in the US in a few weeks, which will push the sorta-official restart time to 2am. That's late, even for me. :s

In-game the Continuum missions are supposed to start at 11:00 pm for me, but it usually takes 15-30 minutes before they actually appear as active, regardless of how many times I restart the game in that time. Since I started pretending that they start at 11:30 pm, they are always ready to go when I start the game around that time. That allows me to get a wave of missions done with full tanks, with my second wave of missions only requiring 40-ish chrons per tube when I get to work the following morning.

I only returned to the game last week after a long break, so I have no quipment components in stash.

For me the epic MED nodes are not solvable. There are no Medicine Database Components in the whole event, so I cannot build anything useful for McCoy or Dereth. What kind of annoyance is that?! Are they doing this on purpose?

It does seem to be the way WRG approach problem solving.
    1) identify the problem (or wait for the community to highlight it)
    2) figure out a solution that does nothing to fix the highlighted issues
    3) tweak that solution so that it makes things worse if possible
    4) implement the fix, regardless of consequences
    5) ignore all subsequent complaints, because the issue has been fixed

1). Players don't get damage credit for targeting nodes in FBB
    2) Chain completion bonus for players attacking after the chain is solved
    3) Add more bridge levels requiring more magnesite which only comes from individual damage
    4) yep
    5) State they're not meeting future changes

What lovely and readable ux this game has.

If there is going to be a feature pushing skill numbers to 4 digits, the UI needs to be checked to be sure everything can display 4 digit numbers properly.

That UI never needed to be checked, everybody knows it's been broken ever since Defensive Phlox was released. It's been years, if they haven't fixed it yet, they're not likely to any time soon.

It was obvious it was going to be broken. When it was just phlox at least it was mostly readable, now there are so many numbers wrapping they're all covering each other and you can't read anything.

Calling it now. Continuum missions will never give TPG the boost they wanted. I believe that the Titanic had a better launch. Then the imbalance of components frustrated the players who persevered. Finally, they tie a powerhouse crew to it. In week 3, they changed the quipment requirements, seemingly making it more difficult to get her.

A lot of us are feeling ignored and insulted. All we’re getting is silence. God help TPG if there’s any serious screwups in the future. It seems likely that further issues at this point will lead to either player unrest or players just saying “well, bye”.

We have a lot more vendors chasing our entertainment budgets and asking for time now and the industry seems to be contracting rapidly (think I saw that already in 2024 a couple of thousand employees of various video game companies have already been let go).

Just to say, the Titanic had a flawless launch, it didn't hit problems until more than halfway into it's journey. So not a good comparison.

The launch of continuum missions would be the equivalent of the Titanic sinking as they crack the bottle of champagne across its bows. The ongoing journey would be the captain actively seeking out icebergs to hit.

What was the point of Continuum Energy Component? It's never a bottleneck on anything. I have 6k energy right now and it's only growing.
