I don't feel they were out of wack.
They leveled out the game so it could move at the full pace DB has been trying to set for nearly 2 years now.
Even I participated in a Galaxy event thanks to Voyages, which is something I pretty much haven't buggered to do since like the 3rd or 4th one.
With (original) Voyages it made it so literally anyone could swoop in out of nowhere and win.
Made it exciting and intense.
They would not have made a change unless there were deleterious effects on the back end. We have had nerfs before but this is the quickest ever. I know lots of players who looked at the insane Galaxy Events points and said F that noise. Galaxy Events became an automatic skip after the post Voyages point totals.
They would not have changed it if as you say “leveled out the game so it could move at the full pace DB has been trying to set for nearly 2 years now“.
Most likely the opposite happened. It sunk DB most lucrative event most definitely completely evaporated any non event Chron sales too.
When companies introduce things that make them less money those things tend to go away.
Voyages is less the 3 months old. Players will just go back to those pre Voyage behavior.
So, I have never really understood the "voyage chrons made it all even" crowd.
For my experience, I had a bunch of FF 4*s and even more 1/5 languishing at lvl1 prior to voyages release. Fast forward two or three weeks and all of the 4/4s are immortalized. A few more weeks and all but the worst of the 5*s are fully equipped. Lately, I have self-imposed throttling on my leveling and am otherwise burning chrons for Galaxy fuel.
I will admit, I don't spend much on portal pulls and the like, but I am still a VIP 13 player with over 200 filled crew slots.
So what I suppose I am asking is what in your gameplay is so different where 1000 extra chronotons per day is "just enough" and 6-700 seems insultingly inadequate? I recognize different players prioritize and value things differently, but I struggle to understand how we are really this far apart.
From three Voyages since the change - I'd say it's about 25% down in Chrons which is disappointing but not horrific. Crew has ranged from none to 4 4*s. Only huge change I can see is the rise in pointless trainers.
Overall I'd sum it up as slightly disappointing but not as bad as feared.
Or you could just take a step back and acknowledge that Voyages were out of whack instead of making extremely long winded posts. They accurately stated that Chrons were getting nerfed.
Oh no! He did it again! Before you comment on my post a third time, this time you REALLY have to read it. Chronitons were probably the only thing I did not complain about (that seems more an issue for those who put a lot of dilithium into their voyages). For me it's more volatile now, but on average I don't think the difference is that significant.
So...will you read (and understand) my post now? Pretty please?

I understood your post. Its a long winded rant about a lot of inconsequential things. We're going to get less Chrons. We will either get more or less of other things that may or may not have been communicated accurately. Unfortunately, Voyages can still swing wildly in what it gives you but in the broader scheme of things, its still a massive bucket of loot. Oh noes.
My experience with voyages so far is FAR less honor, , less chrons, more 1* crew (70% ratio so far, and that includes one time 4* from dilemmas), stupid amounts of trainers, and less overall crew.
I'm much less likely to extend and not just abandon when I forget now, too.
So I'm now on my 3rd 6-7hr voyage since the changes. All 3 were:
About the same component drops, chrons, credits, and 2, 3 and 4 star crew
Lower replicator rations
Higher trainers
Fewer 1 star crew.
I occasionally burned dil on extending the voyage, but usually only to correct my own errors when I have something of value.
Overall I'm still going to run Voyages, and I'll run a 20 hour one just for the achievement, but only when I get a nice alignment of skills (IE: DIP CMD) and a 2500 AM ship.
I would've rather seen fewer trainers and more credits (250-500 per drop instead of 100), but like many others, I'm have more trainers than I'll ever be able to use.
Why did I like voyages prior to the chron nerf? It allowed me to play more and wait less. I saw the extra chrons I received from double and triple extentions to be worth my investment. Now it's not worth extending. I was spending more of my money, but I was enjoying the game much more. Sure, I'll save money now, but I'll be actually playing less. I thought voyages were brilliant, and would have been OK with some minor adjustments, but this is not minor. Big step in the wrong direction.
To be fair, I like the vast majority of the changes they have made recently. This was just the biggest and worst change. Also I do appreciate the Christmas gift of Will Scarlett. I just miss being able to play at the pace I like.
As far as trainers go, why not just give us the equivalent honour? Or if they feel that would be too much honour, let people buy trainers for credits and give us the equivalent amount of credits. Then those who need trainers will be no worse off (they can exchange their prize for the same number of trainers they would have had before) and the rest of us will have something that we can actually use! Even those with lots of credits can buy 90,000 credit crew packs and get some honour from dismissing crew. It's something!
And it looks like we were misled into believing that we would have a higher chance of winning 4* crew after the change. I wonder if those of us that have spent Dil on extending voyages since the change could argue for a refund on those grounds?

Yes, literally anyone could swoop in, provided they had a large, robust roster of super rare and legendary cards, a collection of fully leveled ships, and the means to extend voyages with multiple AM refills. I miss old voyages too because I was far enough along to take advantage of them, but let’s not kid ourselves...the returns for strong players were indeed far better than those with one or more limiting factors.

What's the criteria for strong players?
Having 200+ crew slots and immortals or the ability to throw Dilithium
At refreshes? because I'm pretty sure if you were starting off with deep pockets you can hit 60hr voyages with 6/10 ship and 2* crew

Anybody dumping that kind of cheddar into STT is going to be running 6/10 ships and 2* crew for roughly a nanosecond, so what’s your point? Sure the willingness to spend real $$$ is the most potent performance enhancer available (as with all things in STT) but you’re talking about unicorn whales with your example. For low to moderate spenders, the gradual buildup of crew and ships was the factor that allowed them an edge from voyages, because on the margins, an AM refill nets you a lot more when your base voyage length is 7-8 hrs as opposed to say, 2-3.

yeah the return was better for stronger players.. that's the whole freaking point of building up a crew lol. Not kidding myself in anyway That's the whole point of putting in Dilithium.. to get more. Paying a premium price for a premium product, so I could get premium results, rinse wash repeat.
Those with a stronger crew should get more.
When I'd read on here about players who could go 8+ hours with out a refill did I
A) complain that they were getting more then me
play harder, build up even better crew , buy 10 packs so I could have that strong of a crew and reap those same, better rewards ?
Lol events work the same way.. (for non mega whales)
Build a stronger crew, use them correctly..
+rNgoodLuck and you get better prizes then those who haven't.
By savaging the Voyages payout, they may drive up short term sales of chronitons maybe..
But there long term implications of that shower output will affect pack purchases and worse more, player trust. I now have even less faith in DB to deliver on anything they say then ever before.
They can't update they're portals with out messing it up and when the players tried to talk to them, they ignored us, lied to us and then finally after a week (and 1000s of packs sold on the premise of these new characters being in packs that they were not) they listened.
3 musketeers La Forge.
Item drops for Dilemmas prizes suddenly appearing for everyone at once having never been seen prior, total denial of changes made.
"Oh you must be getting further in your Voyages"
"Slight" reduction in chronitons,
"Higher chance of crew drops"
But there long term implications of that shower output will affect pack purchases and worse more, player trust. I now have even less faith in DB to deliver on anything they say then ever before.
Earning or keeping player trust or good will has never been a priority for DB.
I'm grateful I had the chance to run voyages when I did. They've really helped me build a strong crew. However, the reduction in chronitons and what appears to be a reduction in honor too is going to slow things up for me. Less going on = less fun.
Less fun equals less money. Less time in the game because we have no chrons equals less money.
Let's hope this is the poor business decision it appears to be. In fact, let's assure that it is by reducing the extending of voyages and the purchase of dil.
That's the only way this decision will get any consideration of being reversed.
So for those of you keeping track here is the results from my 15H 12M voyage.
2 -4 Stars (Ardra, Weyoun)
518 Honor
2 -3 Star Crew
156 Dynamic Officer Training (Already have 3417)
66 Advanced Tactical Training
4 -2 Star Crew
30 Intermediate Command Training
71200 Credit
36 Advanced Replicator Rations
80 -2 Star Components
3 Simple Replicator Rations
42 -1 Star Components
29 -0 Star Components
1085 Chromitons
To me this was a very disappointing use of dilithium. I will probably limit my continuations of voyages in the future. I very disappointed in your decisions DB. I hope you reconsider.
I see no advantage to new players. Getting 60 chronitons from 0 to2 and 60 from 2 to4 from caches doesn't seem like how I read the change. I figured would be a nice set up front and dirt nothing after that.
I still haven't claimed my last voyage since the update I have 2k chrons just sitting there after I do claim them it'll be another feature I will not spend Dilithium on so kudos to DB for saving me some money in 2018
I don't know if im the only one thinking way differently. However the thing that pissed me off, is they said they did it to balance out for all people???? Just forget about rewarding the people that PAID Money for more crew, which enabled us to longer shuttles. So Forget the Users that provide Money to GAME

It seriously hit FTP people too. 8 hour mark is not unreacheable which was good source of free chrons and free purples. Not any more.
...
Crew drops are absolutely strange lately. Out of last five? voyages I got one crew that wasn't dilemma and even that was 1*...
