I've noticed a distinct drop in crew drop rates. I expected less 1*'s but I'm getting less 3*'s as well. 4*'s I'm getting at a rate of about 1 out of 3 Voyages which isn't unusual. I usually got roughly 2-3 3*'s for a 7+ hour Voyage.

Quite possibly. I honestly can't remember how often I would get non-dilemma 2*'s but not much. I'll probably just try and remember how many 3*'s I get. There's been a few 8-10 Voyages where I've gotten no 3/4*'s prior to the change.

1* only drop in the first 2 hours. 2* only drop in the first 4 hours, 3* only drop in the 6 hours. After 6 hours the only crew that drop are 4*. So once you pass 6 hours you will never get more 1-3*. I've gotten 3* that have dropped in the first 2 hours on occasion, and I've also gotten voyages where the only crew I get are three 2* from the first 3 dilemmas.

I will say I haven't seen anything worthwhile in my voyages since the nerf. In fact, I hate it.
I went from a nice long 7-8 hr voyage where I'd net 400-500 chrons to 7-8 hrs and barely 250 chrons. That's literally cut in half. Why should I want to send some of my best crew out on a voyage where I can't use them for 8 hours of the voyage plus the 3 hours of the return, so 11-12 hours, if the end result isn't worth the effort?
I could be using these crew for shuttles or whatever else. The incentive for voyages was there when we got beaucoups of chrons, and even though I'll still do voyages there's no reason for me to even bother refreshing the antimatter if the net gain is so bad.
The only thing I'd want as a bonus from voyages if we have to settle with this terrible nerf is DB said they'd put in more 4* crew, yet I'm really not seeing any gains in 4* crew. And the ones I do get are ones I already have FF'd. I say put even a small chance of getting 5*s in voyages, like a very slim chance, but a slim chance is better than none and worth the trip a bit more than what we have now.

I really think the whole extra crew they are talking about is the voyage specific crew. Admittedly I did get one (Clown) on a freebee voyage and Lucien on one I extended. But those hardly feel the price of the nerf admission....I find em cool as characters, but they'll probably never see any use in any event or shuttle for me.

Agreed. Though my results are purely anecdotal, it does seem like the amount that chronitons have dropped off is not nearly proportional to the amount that credits have (supposedly) been increased. I would love to be able to come out of a Voyage with several hundred thousand extra credits, but that now seems to be pie-in-the-sky thinking.
For the time being, I've also stopped extending Voyages with Dilithium — which I used to do several times daily — because they get less and less worthwhile the longer you run them. Prior to the nerf, 8 to 12 hours was a sweet spot, where I was generally taking home 800 to 1000 chronitons. Now it's a pathetic return by comparison, and there isn't much of anything worthwhile to make up for that loss.

Again I can confirm that even after 10 hours and like 160 dil. there isn't even a hint of a blue or purple....my advice buyer beware you've just discovered DBs latest money sink....
I've just done my 20 hour one for the 10k honor. Total voyage length: 21hrs 20mins. Total chrons 1401. Total dilithium spent 974. Never doing that again.... Oh, and 268 gold trainers which is a total load of crock.
I don't think DB even want us doing long voyages at this point. And as it stands it certainly doesn't make any sense to run them, so it's back to not giving DB any money again. (Which **tsk tsk**, because I really liked the game for the last few months and was happy to keep buying crew because I was able to level them. But DB have to be taught a lesson again it seems, because it feels like they are always trying to squeeze us a little more - the relationship feels antagonistic when it shouldn't be, right?)
It is all luck. I just hit 4 hours (uncommon for me) and I have three blue 3 star, three green 2 star, and two 1 star characters.
Incidently, is 3 star Commander Checkov worth keeping. He is male and human, so he may not be worth it.
Luck is BS before they screwed around with the voyages we were able to ALWAYS get BLUES and PURPLES on voyage of more than 6 hours in fact that is what they stated from the start.
Yeah luck is irrelevant when the only change I'm seeing is less chrons. I'm not seeing more 4*s or more credits rewarded as said would be. If DB thought the chrons that more seasoned players were getting from longer voyages was unfair to newer players who can't go as long, then we should be seeing more worthwhile rewards in the 2-4 hour marks since most players new or not can make that area. Yet, we are not.
DB needs to just acknowledge that the whole structure of their game being a "card-collecting" game as quoted by themselves, means that there is no viable balance that can be achieved between newer and older players. Older players have collected more cards, therefore, they will always be impossible leagues ahead of newer players. No amount of nerfing or stat creep will ever fix that because the whole premise of the game feeds into a dynamic which favours those who have played longer and have collected more.
That being said, while it is admirable that DB wants to not let newer players be left in the dust, there's very little they can do at the top which won't upset long-time players and make them feel as if their patronage is being undervalued. So DB needs to focus at the bottom (read: on bonuses for newer players) instead of cropping the top (read: curbing benefits of older players).
EDIT: The only partially viable solution I can think of is to start off newer players with some training wheels, the benefits of which fade as one's captain level increases more and more.
For example captain levels 1-10 get some real big bonuses because it's much like graduating from Starfleet when people still hold your hand as a new captain, making things easier for you so you can adjust to the responsibility of your role.
The benefits of being a new captain wane slightly between levels 10-20.
The benefits fade even more in levels 20-30.
After level 30, I'd say the newbie benefits are gone completely, by then you're pretty seasoned.

I mean it very well could be. I don't like to be a conspiratorial person but we allllll said that voyages would be nerfed eventually. We all knew. We were keen, we knew it. Why? Because we knew voyages were a steal when it came to chrons. We went from pre-voyage game where chrons were like a hangover, only restored by time at 6 min a pop for one chroniton (or a lot of dilithium) where if you had the 150 chron limit max then it took 15 hours just to get that 150 back, to post-voyages where people were drawing back space fishing nets full of 300-700 or even more chronitons for just 8-12 hours (including the return time). That was double to triple or higher the amount of chrons we were used to getting.
So we knew voyages would eventually be nerfed to all get-out, we knew.

Just refilled my 11h 59m voyage (had to wait for my daily dil to afford it). Now it's at 12h 14m and I have:
1 x 4* crew (useless as he's already immortalised and literally only dropped as I started this post
1 x 3* crew
6 x 2* crew
0 x 1* crew
269 honour
57,700 credits
657 chrons
More stats:
I'm VIP 11, level 62, with 140 crew slots. Not a whale, but a daily card player who's splashed out more than she really should have on a few of those multi-10x premium pack offers.
This is the most powerful ship in my fleet, with crew on the main skill at 8325 and secondary skill at 5015. So yes, I did expect better rewards. :-(
In the past I've had 3-4 x 4* crew drop by this point, even if 9 times out of 10 they were ones I didn't need or want. I started to wonder whether it was deliberately giving me 1/4s rather than additional stars for crew I've been working on.
EDIT:
Just recalled it at 13h 33m. Zero change to the significant rewards except I now have 687 chrons.
"There are two types of beings in the universe - those who dance, and those who do not."
Looking at the stats, it seems prudent to simply do your voyages as they were meant to be run - until your AM is almost out. No extensions, no dilithium spent, unless one's going for the achievements. I will also do that eventually when I get a good combo that will allow me to get to 8:30 hours without a refill. Sadly, the RNG could ruin your mood easily - I was used to seeing decent chroniton amount even at a 7-8 hour voyage, and today I woke up to end a 7 hour voyage just to see a grand total of 220 chronitons and nothing else remotely decent. That must be my lowest of low for a good long time.
I am not the one to complain at freebies, but thanks to voyages I was seeing myself joining the occasional Galaxy event more competitively (last one I ever cared about was the Zhiantara Odo event). As there is silver lining to everything, I guess it's for the better - I will keep playing as I used to, spend an hour to collect the freebies, and enjoy the Galaxy event weeks to their fullest in the good old real life
It's a worry. I have sent a few voyages past 4 hours, up to that point things are similar chroniton wise but much lower on honor/crew drops, up to 6 hours the pitiful number of chrons doesn't seem worth it at all. But after that we are in the super-rare drop territory, so things should start perking up a bit. To be honest, I ran a voyage for 12 hours after the nerf and received 5 purples, which was the most I'd ever had from a voyage this length. I've been a bit low on dil for voyages, running them mostly for chrons, so I haven't run many past the 6 hour mark. I did when I got a purple at the 6 hour dilemma and one at the 8, but not much else. Voyages seem low on chrons and honor by the vast majority of accounts, so I'm feeling very sad as it really rejuvenated the game for me and I hope it doesn't go stale owing to the lack of activity available and rewards given.
I did today what I never do, I extended my voyage one time with my hard earned dilithium (through immortalization) for the 10h achievement (wiill never do the 20h I guess). It lasted 10h and a few minutes. I got 1x 1* crew (first since changes) 3x 2* crew (through dilemmas), 1x 3* crew (through dilemma) and alas, the first 4* crew (without any chronitons or honor coming along with it) since the changes at the 5th dilemma...zero other crew. So far in more than a week the best I got was 3* crew (3 or 4), and zero 4* with voyages typically lasting between 6.5h and and 7.5h.
Also the 10h did not even yield enough replicator rations to even replicate a blue item.
If 45k credits for 10h isn't just the proverbial drop in the bucket, I don't know what is.
But almost 650 chronitons isn't that terrible in my opinion (with the purple drop not even giving any). Only no crew to use them on
That purple drops does not seem to give any honor/chronitons anymore is just a further way to BS the players.
If not for the achievements, I don't see anybody spending dilithium on voyages. What you get without extension seems no worse than with extensions.
But I bet those people not knowing what they're talking about, claiming we don't have enough data to make an informed statement, will not crawl back to where they came from for a while.
Well, in my experience, on the average, by hour 7 I am usually looking at 270 chronitons with decent events. If I get a good event, 320+ is doable, but then again... today's 220 by the 7th hour was terrible.
Are the chron rewards actually "small" and "pitiful" relative to the other ways we have in game to get additional chrons?
No. You get 450 Chrons everyday. 2 Voyages will easily exceed that even with some of the lower numbers I've seen from others. This doesn't include the big bucket of components you get as well. Most people, even if they don't realize it, have partially changed from component farming to equipment farming which increases leveling efficiency.
My motivation to sign up to this forum was to vent my frustration at the nerfing of voyages. It’s blatantly to ensure more people pay for the 1250 chron pack around galaxy events and it would make a lot of sense for gamers to refuse to pay that in defiance of DBs decision to again limit anything worthwhile being granted from missions within the game.
Also, 4 star crew are almost non-existent on voyages now. Sort it!!
Whelp, with fewer chrons, fewer or no crew, and fewer reprats, I'm recalling my voyages with much more AM now. I'm no longer willing to risk AM depleting and extending voyages since those extra few/several hundred AM are extremely unlikely to net me anything.
I'll only consider extending a voyage if it has a 4* card I'll keep.
Everything extra from the voyages allowed me to spend more time in the game and progress faster. Which was good, as the game was getting stale, and losing my attention.
If my chrons, crew, and reprats stay at the rate they given to me now, the game is going to go back on that slide towards staleness. I know I haven't had a single voyage I been excited about getting back since the change . . .
I know I haven't had a single voyage I been excited about getting back since the change . . .
Yeah I've felt the exact same way since the nerf. Voyages are complete trash now. I was buying Dilithium just for Voyages before this, but not any more. Face it DB, people are not happy. Do you even care?
"It was therefore necessary to rewrite a paragraph of Big Brother's speech, in such a way as to make him predict the thing that had actually happened."
"the Ministry of Plenty had issued a promise (a "categorical pledge" were the official words) that there would be no reduction of the chocolate ration during 1984. Actually, as Winston was aware, the chocolate ration was to be reduced from thirty grams to twenty at the end of the present week. All that was needed was to substitute for the original promise a warning that it would probably be necessary to reduce the ration at some time in April."
I've noticed a drastic drop in crew since the changes. I usually run 6.5-7.5 hrs voyages so I usually get 2 voyages in per day and fewer than 5 times have I received crew that weren't part of dilemmas. I never minded getting the 1* crew as it was just more honor but getting 0 extra crew feels pretty bad. At this point I pretty much only care about the basic and 1* components that come back. They've been the most useful things.
There clearly has been a lot of mis or disinformation given to us and as has been requested many times in this thread it would be great to hear some clarification.

How many quatloos is that?
I've noticed a distinct drop in crew drop rates. I expected less 1*'s but I'm getting less 3*'s as well. 4*'s I'm getting at a rate of about 1 out of 3 Voyages which isn't unusual. I usually got roughly 2-3 3*'s for a 7+ hour Voyage.
My 2+* crew drop has been the same. If anything, I've seen more 4* dilemmas after the update. Any change you're seeing is likely a result of RNG.
Quite possibly. I honestly can't remember how often I would get non-dilemma 2*'s but not much. I'll probably just try and remember how many 3*'s I get. There's been a few 8-10 Voyages where I've gotten no 3/4*'s prior to the change.

I should also point out the proficiency rooms were added to Starbases recently. This is a net gain to the duration of everyone's Voyages.
Also, 4 star crew are almost non-existent on voyages now. Sort it!!
I know I haven't had a single voyage I been excited about getting back since the change . .
There clearly has been a lot of mis or disinformation given to us and as has been requested many times in this thread it would be great to hear some clarification.
