  • Once again DB missed the mark, in my opinion.
    Instead of giving us Picard, they should have given us a choice of one of 3 Mirror crew, similar to what was done back when I was offered a chance at a free Arachnia, or Dr. Chaotica.

    NO, they should have just given us a citation.

  • Have to add my voice to this thread; saved up honor to FF Picard, and for what? Just bought a monthly card after receiving some Christmas $, but until these blunders cease, I won't renew that card, or make further purchases, anytime soon.

  • Maybe this is a silly question but has anyone tried politely asking for him to be replaced by a citation if you already have one? Before throwing vitriol at the board? I am genuinely curious whether or not they will do it

    I sent a Support Ticket. Even made a few suggestions of what could have been done instead.

    Well, this Picard debacle has done one thing they wanted it to. completely deflected the attention off of them borking the end of the event!

    A 5* citation wouldn't help anyone who joined after they gave away Will Scarlett. I doubt that small group of players wouldn't have thought twice about a citation popping up in their mail, or nearly so passionate about the outage

    We're not allowed, by TOS, to copy-paste what CS has said to folks into the forums, but CS is already responding to at least some folks and the response is complete garbage.

    A refund of the $25 or compensation *in kind*, via 50K honor or a citation, is the appropriate response. Not "s*cks to be you, boo."

    Well I submitted my ticket asking for a refund or citation reminding them that I'm VIP 14 and my fleet also spends big. It's all about money and they'll make this right or lose mine.

    Same here. I now seriously regret giving more money to DB. If they dont respond properly to my CS ticket asking for refund of 50k honor, I am going to ask them to cancel the monthly card and give me a refund. I am yet to use any of the Dil I got from the card. If it doesn’t work, the next step might be to escalate to Apple/FB/Android folks and ask for compensation from them. If I remember correctly, apple store has a 90 day money back policy. Though not sure how it works with in-app purchases.

    I did that the last time they screwed a bunch of people over, so sadly I can't turn my 1-star review into a 0-star. But I also strongly encourage anyone else to do it. That rating is what drives discoverability on the store, and if it's bad, they'll eventually be filtered out of top level results (Say, for something like 'star trek' or 'star trek games').

    Given how they've been behaving towards their customers for some time now, it's more of a service to potential victims players than anything.

    I'm there. They can give me the Legendary Citation in exchange for Picard, which is fair, or I can get a refund from Google. One way or the other I'll be satisfied. I've gone to Google before and got what I wanted. *shrugs*
  • Since the issue was that DB couldn't be sure of players' ranking, the smart move would have been to award a Mirror Troi, not Picard. The players fighting for rank at the last minute wouldn't have been worried about Picard.

    Instead of appeasing the community, this is a slap in the face to anyone who spent the $25 on the Double Your Crew offer, and even worse to those who spent 50k precious Honor to fully fuse him already.

    I call on DB to make this right.

    Yes, it would. Eventually. At some point they will get a 5* and then they can citation that 5*. It helps everyone equally. A cover of a certain 5* help new players immensely, certain players a fair amount, and veteran players who spend loads of cash to max out rosters not at all. Does that seem right to you?

    I appreciated my Will Scarlet because I didn't have him before and Worf is a cool character to have. Thinking on it now tho, citations are the way to go. Any crew DB feels like giving out should either A) Airlock for the amount of honor to get a citation for a limited time or 2) have an option to just take a citation of the proper rarity instead. "Hey y'all, here's a free 5* Worf, or if that's not what you want/need have a citation instead." Or just cut out the middle bit and only reward citations when handing out crew benefits.

    They can say goodbye to mine, as well. I don't spend a lot. A monthly card, some packs here or there. I like to get the 10 for 10 sometimes. More money for beer, I guess. :)

  • I don't post often, if ever, but this screw-up has really annoyed me. I'm certain intentions were good, but surely someone at DB must have realised that every player who spent on DYC or 50K honor would be outraged by this "compensation".

    Seriously DB just own this mistake, avoid the inevitable backlash that will come your way otherwise.

    I'm pretty sure this isn't direct compensation for the event issues. While they mentioned it in the text of the note, based on the title I think it's more in line with the Worf we got for Christmas and they always intended to give it to us.

    Compensation for screwing up the end of an event is called trying to fix the damage.

    Cloaking it up as a gift and calling folks ungrateful is simply erroneous.

    Folks missed out on Troi cause DB couldn't hold the servers together.
    Folks didn't get Troi they got something many of them already had and of thus of lesser value to compensate for DB screwing up.

    The equation does not balance.

    OK. I can understand that POV and maybe a Troi would have been a better choice after all. I wasn't home towards the end of the event so very likely I am not understanding what happened. And I am sure that if I was in your shoes, I'd be upset too if I had really wanted a Troi and missed out due to a server malfunction. But that is not what I am hearing people say... people are saying they are upset because they already had their Mirror Picard FF/FE. But again, maybe I am missing something.

    That's the slap part of it. Not only did some folks miss Troi, but they get something that isn't helpful and does not take the sting out of it. If you were in line to get Troi, more than likely you DYS to compete.

    This wasn't some lil thank you gift, hey y'all are awesome players.

    IT WAS COMPENSATION FOR THE SERVERS FALLING OVER. (see the lil sticky up at the top of the forums about the outage?)

    Yeah, a lot of things went wrong during this event... the server crash at the beginning really hurt me and I ended up having to spend money to buy extra time boosts to get caught up. I wasn't real happy about that. The shortened time at Christmas didn't hep me much either and I ended up having to buy extra tickets and just do the epic and elite levels because I was pressed for time. In both cases, I got the 5* guy so I was not real upset.

    Still all in all, I really can't complain, the only guys I didn't get were Mirror Troi and I missed out on 3 stars for Mirror Janeway.... but that was my choice because I decided to save my chronotons to get a second star for my Dukat next week so I didn't really play Part II of this event. I am not at all displeased about getting a 5th star for Mirror Picard.

    I certainty know how upsetting feeling that you got ripped off can be... I was quite upset that I didn't get a Dark ages McCoy awhile back... so much so that I really considered if I wanted to continue to play this game at all. So good luck in your quest for justice ... I hope it works out for everyone.
