    @Shan -

Can you please provide the number of players that you guys have identified that need corrective action? I would also like to know what percent that is of the playing populus. I assume DB has no objection to supplying us with those metrics, right?

Giving specific metrics is not something that we will do.
As said in the in-game mail and on these forums, it was a small number of players.

    I see. Well then, thanks.

    I'm done.

I find it funny in 2 days three major problems happen in the game and DB thinks it's okay to hide the truth from it's players.

    Any specific reason?

Why should I lose out on 350d when others get it.

For the same reason I’ve missed out on free 5*s from their other screwed up packs? Because I didn’t buy the pack before it was pulled so they could fix and repost it.

In that case the 5* was a fix., they would have lost out if there was no chance for a 5*.
Players did not get a refund of the original dil.

In this case players get a refund of the original 650 dil, and an extra 350, plus VIP dil.

Player statistics is not something any game will provide because that is confidential proprietary corporate information that could benefit their competitors

Raw number of involved players would suffice.

but I never pull a pack unless my wife is home, and she was out at the time..

Why should I lose out on 350d when others get it.

Because this is your personal choice/circumstance and not DB´s "fault". That is why.

A better understanding of just how many players this effects. An event 5* gets mailed out, we know it goes to everyone. When there is a pack spitting out free dil, the effected player base is unknown.

There was no chance for one specific 5. You still got one of the other 2 5’s or one of the 3 4’s in each pack. I mean the “fairest” thing in both cases would to refund and take back to the point you were before pulling from either pack, but it sometimes seems like they do it the way they have to encourage folks to jump on a pack just in case there’s a mistake

I'm still not sure what one would do with that information. Like, if it were 50 or 500 or 5,000 people, what would be the difference from the perspective of someone who had not pulled from the bugged pack? What would someone do differently under each scenario?

So, then you'd be cool when they advertise a portal update but only put in 6 of 8..10 or 12 of the listed characters because your still have the chance at the 6 ? Am I understanding correctly ?

I guess I just have higher standards then that.
    Not good enough.

350d, would be a very small token to give out as a universal oppsy, please don't hate us.

They (the 1 pull 350 gain'ers) really are at the bottom of my list of this.. no fault of theirs.
But it's simply not fair that because they hit it at 12:05 they gain 350 Dilithium and 500vip
And if I hit it now, I get the only double of a super rare in the pack for a whooping 200 honor.

Its my same objection to when they put up then pulled down the Amanda 10 pack during the Vulcan mega.. those players got an unfair advantage that they could have corrected by putting that pack up again.

Clearly no one in their right mind is suggesting to put the bugged pack up.. but to make the community closer to whole due to this "error"
(Which.. can be nothing less then sabotage by a disgruntled in my opinion, it's too specific an error to be opps.. put in shran instead of shakur whatcha gonna do.. there both blue.. this hit on the exact worst possible way, too specific to be opps)

And that's not even looking at I'll gotten gains of speed ups..

How many chronitons and posts do you think could be had by hitting that button 1000 time then speeding up Klingon shuttles ?
    Parts & chronitons..

The are so many intangibles that can't be undone without a server rollback.

They aren't going to do a server roll back..
They may not even tell us what's going to happen to vip levels or vip Dilithium gains.

Are they going to put people in to negative Dilithium ? Say it's.. 3000 negative..
How many people are going to stick around 2 months with a monthly card to pay it off ?
Who's gonna pay 65 bucks to get out of the hole ?

I know we need to give them time
But they're going to need to give us answers on this one.. no addressing the team tomorrow and review it internally..

We need to know how this happened
We need to know specifically what they will do to prevent it from happening again and receive should get compensated..

    There should be something beyond
"The portal was bugged.. opps" in an in game mail.

The intangibles make this huge alone.

Sure and if they want to do that that’s great, but if they sent it out as universal then the folks already got 350 would be getting 700 and there would be screaming from the roof tops. They’d need to send it out only to people who didn’t buy the pack at all.

  • FutureImperfectaFutureImperfecta ✭✭✭✭✭
And that, I absolutely agree with.
(I thought that was implied, but I definately was not specifc.)

Yeah.. 350 for those who didn't pull and honesty a universal something for everyone ..
    Honor... Citation.. Kira..

    Something.
Too many intangibles to be shrugged off and day opps.

  • The portals are released the same time every Tuesday somewhere around 9:00am PST, so everyone had a fair shot at the portal... the bugs that have happened have been closed within a half an hour for the other previous bugs... so there really isn’t a reason to give out a blanket bonus... if you took a chance and got a portal, you get comped for the bug, if not... you don’t have to deal with it, and you don’t get anything...

You're right, I'm always up at 2am on a Wednesday morning stalking the portal on a mobile app......... 🙄

Same goes for server reset, gauntlet ends, and event ends... it’s unfortunate that you are not in a favorable time zone, but doesn’t change the fact that it is consistent and that they will only comp you if you have actually purchased the bugged packs...

  • Yes, because a 30 minute exploit window is totally comparable to two or four day windows where someone can plan to make up the time 🙄

I know of cases where 100+ packs were bought while the exploit was up. This is a whole different ball game.
  • For the apologists out there....we wanted to know how they we're resolving the different scenarios of "repossessing the ill gotten gains". Something along the lines of...1-Dil in the player's inventory has been confiscated. 2-Dil received due to VIP bonuses is taken back. 3-vip levels gained have been rolled back. 4-crew purchased with Dil from the big have been removed. 5-honor gained from airlock said crew has been removed. 6-Purchases from honor Hall as a result are removed. 7-Any Speed ups done are undone. 8-starbase speedups from Dil gained from the bug are rolled back. 9-## stuff I haven't thought of while typing this.

Finally their assurance that this has been done for 100% of the people involved. And I'm STILL taking their word for it.
  • Its a bug/error, its not meant to happen... so they’re not going to equalize your chances of exploiting a bug... they have already removed excess dil gained through the portal directly and will probably remove the VIP dil as well... once that happens, you will be in no better or worse relative position as the other players...

How can you possibly expect things like speedups to be removed? What about gauntlet refreshes? You can't undo some of this, it's ridiculous.

Not all of it, no, but this just underscores the scale. They should at the very least guarantee that points 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are removed for ALL affected players.

It's understood that they can't tell us how many were affected. But once they get done with the rolebacks, they should guarantee that this has been fixed for all the people who have gotten 10s of 1000s of dollars worth of advantage.

Sometimes you can't undo damage that's been done, it's just not possible to reverse it. In which case you say, sorry we made a huge mistake and we fixed what we could but we can't undo everything and you have to live with that.

    Be realistic.
