I would love to get Leucon, White Rabbit, Sinister Picard... All are power-voyagers that I missed out on (I have Picard at 1/5 but have been considering dropping the cites to finish him, but that is just soooo expensive). I have lots of 1/5s I would be fine with, though.
Rura Penthe Kirk is an odd choice for the Christmas campaign imo. Not really terrible but far from something to be excited about. Personally I avoided him in beholds so far so I go in with zero stars.
After some recent very nice crew I am kind of disappointed still.

Ugh, I kinda thought they could go this route for December. Another two skiller, granted a Kirk and a good Arena crew. But still, was hoping for something better.
Kirk's a great investment for those that don't have him - main cast (tonnes of event potential), super strong bases (always on shuttles for me), and a strong ship ability (he's an arena and skirmish mainstay). Don't overlook him just because he's two-skill. Heck, he might even be worth a second copy.

Well, the 4* track is free, so whatever I get there is fine. Was that event with Shran the one there was so many problems during. Maybe they are making up for it
After the last Kirk event, my 1/5* Rura Penthe Kirk is sitting at 100 FE. Looks like I will finally have an immortalized 5* Kirk. Have 2 Spocks and a McCoy, but no Kirk. Similarly, a Janeway, a Siscko, and two Picard, but no Kirk or Archer. Maybe we can get an Archer for Enterprise's 20th anniversary next year.

Yeah, I think he's a good example of a valuable two-skiller: good general use in the arena and filling a common shuttle seat, great potential for Kirk events. And while I'm not big into TOS, there's no denying Kirk is one of the most popular Star Trek characters.

I see the theme, and it would certainly be a popular pairing. Perhaps:
Tuxedo Nog + Vic Fontaine, for more general celebration
Kamin Picard + Sarina Douglas, a bit of a stretch, but Picard experiencing the end of life, and Sarina is sort of reborn
Six degrees in Inter-species Veterinary Medicine. Treating all manner of critters, from Tribbles to Humans.
Rura Penthe Kirk is the only two-skill crew I keep out of the freezer. For players without any or many solid 5* crew, his raw power in just those two skills should actually play well on voyages and he’s a top-shelf shuttle ace even without any event bonuses. And for people without any gauntlet crew, he is serviceable there as well until better options can be found. Then, when a Kirk event comes up (which is frequent enough and is basically always a Faction) he’s a complete monster.
We could have (and actually have) done a lot worse in terms of two-skill campaign crew, and I honestly don’t think we could have done much better. I think I will go for a second copy so I can be that much more OP for Kirk events.
Rura Penthe Kirk - is the first 5* crew that I have, that is featured in a campaign. I have him at 1/5 and FE, and he will be my first immortal Kirk, a glaring roster hole for someone who calls himself Captain Kirk.
