I'm sorry Shan is in the difficult position of explaining this, but the whole "we changed it once, but can't change it back" is pretty weak without specifics. Maybe time will make us look a little bratty, but even if the towel version is free, there's a lot of players who worked hard to get something less desirable when they would have received the advertised prize for free.

I don't understand why they are so stingy about offering compensation. Surely it's not worth the bad PR. Why not turn this mistake into an opportunity to actually build a good image instead? Coming from another mobile game that hands out PREMIUM currency to everyone in no small amounts for every single perceived inconvenience, TP's behavior here seems horrible. Just awful.

That is valid. I would have been out after the 130k mark to get the new purple finished. Instead, I wanted the card shown and went for it. 1501 can have my copy of this new thing I wasn't playing for.

I fully agree with the original post. I only "wasted" my valuable resources because I liked the art. I was extremely pissed off, when with about an hour to go I found out I was going to earn another crappy blue uniform. I'm of a mind to not bother chasing a card for the artwork anymore. I scored 635,900 this event for 1,258th.
In the Kelis event (the enemy within 5-9th November 2020) I scored 606,641 and finished 895th.
And for the rerun of the Daystrom award 2 (1-5th October 2020), I scored 740,475 for 297th. And my alt scored 604,710 for 1,204th.
First of all Shan, you do a tremendous job and we know none of this is your fault. That being said, it's a bad look for WRG to make arbitrary, last-minute changes like this, keep the reasons a secret, and insist on case-by-case resolutions. WRG should apologize (I know you have apologized, but I mean an in-game apology from the company to all players), be transparent about what went wrong, give a global compensation, and as Sky Cap has suggested, tell us what will be changed in the future to prevent a re-occurrence.
I will submit a ticket because that's what you've asked us to do. However, a ticket does nothing to resolve the greater issues at play with player trust and engagement. Therefore I wanted to post publicly about how heartbroken I was at the art change and how disappointed I am in the response so far from the company.
Shan, are you able to tell us if the originally advertised art will be reappearing at some point in the future, or has it been withdrawn permanently? For me, at least, how I feel about this situation will be at least partially affected by knowing the answer.

Not telling people why a switch was made does not foster goodwill. I understand that this may not be directly in your control but this situation is a problem.
Any mention of what "Support" (im using that term loosely in this case) offers gets cut off and there is no universal solution. I won't post what they offered but it was extremely tone-deaf and a low ball imho.

And I'd like to reiterate that this is appalling customer service. No disrespect to you Shan, we all know you're just the liaison here and you can only tell us what you're authorised to tell us. But please make sure that whoever makes these decisions is aware of just how bad a decision this is, and how much harm this has done to the relationship with your customer base.
Put simply, we need to know what happened, what steps have been put in place to stop it happening again, and why we can't have the card that we thought we were getting. Without this, how can we trust anything that comes out of TP again?
The company have clearly demonstrated that they're willing to defraud their customers, without any kind of explanation. And putting the emphasis on their customers to chase after what is bound to be hopelessly inadequate compensation just compounds the error, adding insult to injury.
Why should we continue putting effort (and money) into the game when you're willing to simply pull the rug out from under us? Why would we chase after the event crew when we simply don't know what we're going to get in the end? And why would we continue to give financial support to a company that clearly has absolutely zero respect for its customers?

I have no need for a refund of token or boosts, let alone chrons, and I do not feel especially entitled for any. I just want funky Adira as announced instead of boring Adira. As this will not happen I am out of ideas what to request, thinking whatever crap I might get is not worth the hassle. A global compensation would spare us this at least.

Remember how much the forum had to fight for that to happen, though? I'm inclined to say this isn't as bad as the Yar situation, since art doesn't fundamentally change the usefulness of the crew in quite the way that particular bait and switch impacted Yar's usefulness (new, singlehanded best skirmish/arena crew in the game to second or third tier at best was a pretty significant demotion), but the precedent has been set.

Thats a good point. Im just saying that if the art is slated for release later on, in my opinion it becomes harder to justify the current position that the art cannot be switched back. The pessimistic side of me also becomes inclined to believe that the company views the withdrawn art as higher value, and had plans to profit off of it.
In my opinion, if the card was going to be released as a ranked reward in a future event it would have been swapped back already and we wouldnt be discussing this topic anymore.
