Ooooof. To be honest I really would have preferred to hear “the art cant be released, licensing issues”.....
The provided response could be interpreted a lot of ways. Like, i could see a “best case” that its a global gift card to be released on christmas or convergence day.....
Or i could see “worst case” its going to be released in a future 6 pack for 650 dilithium.....
Not being able to be released because the artist quit or something, just shifts the incompetence to another area. Surely WRG used competent lawyers that would know how to include a properly worded intellectual property clause into a contract, that covers work product?
Thats a good point. Im just saying that if the art is slated for release later on, in my opinion it becomes harder to justify the current position that the art cannot be switched back. The pessimistic side of me also becomes inclined to believe that the company views the withdrawn art as higher value, and had plans to profit off of it.
In my opinion, if the card was going to be released as a ranked reward in a future event it would have been swapped back already and we wouldnt be discussing this topic anymore.
So like i said, im inclined to believe that “best case” it becomes a global gift.
Worst case, it is released as part of a 6 pack for 650 dilithium and people lose their minds.
Or just give up on trusting getting anything that is offered/advertised from this company/game.
The lack of information leads to all types of speculation, that is not healthy for the relationship between TP and the players. Which is why I again ask that someone authorized to give answers comes here and gives us them. Communication is best as a two way street. Things are feeling pretty one-sided right now.
Thanks for the swift reply, Shan, though I'll be honest it's not the one I would have preferred.
I particularly hope it doesn't turn out that the original art is actually planned to be used for the result of a fusion with some future Gray card. (I'm not sure where I saw someone suggesting that possibility - might even have been earlier in this thread?)
I really like the fusion mechanic in the game (I have all the existing fusion cards immortalised, and the only one I used cites on was Cheesecake Seven), and absent this mess I would see UEDF Adira + Gray = Adira Tal as a very neat nod to the plotline in the show. But as it is the idea of swapping the card I was given for the card I thought I was getting, but also having to sink a bunch of extra resources into doing so, would really stick in my craw. For me, that would be worse than a 650-dil 6-pack.
I will be putting in a complaint to CS, although I have absolutely zero faith that anything worthwhile will come of it.
Me neither. I do not even know what to ask for. I would have played the same way with Adira as she is now (aiming below 1500), I am just disappointed about the change. I have no need for a refund of token or boosts, let alone chrons, and I do not feel especially entitled for any. I just want funky Adira as announced instead of boring Adira. As this will not happen I am out of ideas what to request, thinking whatever crap I might get is not worth the hassle. A global compensation would spare us this at least.
I would go for 12 three-hour doublers (I call them 3x2's), 48 blue time boosts, then any gold or purple boosts, plus any dilithium or rentals that you may have used. That's my kind of standard faction supply usage for a 1,500 run.
But mostly, I'm just glad you got the complaint registered.

I reiterated that a global compensation is due in my ticket. I did not want to ask for resources I have plenty of anyway, just for myself.

As time continues to go by this thread has turned from politely asking for proper “consumer care” resolution to an angry tone because all of the points that have been made that are valid. Sending a ticket to C/S who often treat the consumer base poorly, is not resolution.
Its not just simply the art. The card that was advertised as the event ranking reward has value in a trek story line with the art, name and traits combined. The card that now exists is devalued as the traits and name are not valid with this artwork. So that will be rectified and changed, then the card we actually won will be released (however that may be) at a later date and those who played for it and expended resources, based on the entirety of the cards representation will have to buy or earn it again. This is not fair.
I asked early in this discussion to simply resolve the issue with guarantee that every person who won the card will get a free copy when it is released, and make the proper uniform version available in an event soon for those who may have played for that version had it been advertised.
It seemed a simple and fair resolution without a bunch of tickets clogging C/S.
The way this is being handled does not support any confidence within the consumer base. We are consumers, customers, clientele, however you choose to word it. This is just another blunder that will cause people to quit the game and or stop spending. This is a business and you need our money to support the game.
And again i will say, the event preview goes up Wednesday. There was plenty of time to rectify this mistake before the event started had anyone paid attention. So your consumer base is being punished because an employee (or several) dropped the ball.
Who put the wrong card in the event?
Who didn’t catch it?
Who wrote the announcement for the following weeks event with the name Adira “Tal” ?
Plenty of time to have fixed this before it started and plenty of time to have said “we are working on a resolution, please be patient” but this hasn't happened either.
And I'd like to reiterate that this is appalling customer service. No disrespect to you Shan, we all know you're just the liaison here and you can only tell us what you're authorised to tell us. But please make sure that whoever makes these decisions is aware of just how bad a decision this is, and how much harm this has done to the relationship with your customer base.
Put simply, we need to know what happened, what steps have been put in place to stop it happening again, and why we can't have the card that we thought we were getting. Without this, how can we trust anything that comes out of TP again?
The company have clearly demonstrated that they're willing to defraud their customers, without any kind of explanation. And putting the emphasis on their customers to chase after what is bound to be hopelessly inadequate compensation just compounds the error, adding insult to injury.
Why should we continue putting effort (and money) into the game when you're willing to simply pull the rug out from under us? Why would we chase after the event crew when we simply don't know what we're going to get in the end? And why would we continue to give financial support to a company that clearly has absolutely zero respect for its customers?
I will be putting in a complaint to CS, although I have absolutely zero faith that anything worthwhile will come of it.
I'd like to reiterate this is appalling customer service as well. And unfortunately, until players start speaking with their wallets, WRG will continue to pull these kinds of shenanigans like the offer wall, and Bait & Switches like Polywater Yar and Adria. Not that I spend a ton of money in the game to begin with, but I'm done spending at this point going forward until such time that this situation is made right. An in-game apology from WRG to start with, then a refund of all of my boosts I used in the event while still allowing me to keep the 5* I earned, despite it not being the one I wanted. This is WRG's screw-up and THEY should have to pay for it, not ME! Ideally WRG would gift everyone Towel Adira, but as we all know and as we have all seen, WRG doesn't give a damn about their customers. WRG expects that they can treat us customers like garbage, and WRG expects that the money will just keep rolling in from those costumers they treat like garbage. Time to stop that money rolling in, in my opinion. Stop buying packs, stop buying campaigns, stop spending any money in the game until WRG can at least FAKE like they care about their customers. They're not even doing that at this point.
This absolutely appalling customer service. Shan is doing her best yet it feels like it’s being placated to. I am literally so upset over this and it’s just a stupid game! Which annoys me even more! Like why would anyone get upset Over a game! How privileged can I be! The world is suffering over covid and here i am crying over stupid mobile game! It makes me want to quite! I was so thrilled for that last Wednesday and this and how it is being handled is the last straw! Shan isn’t at liberty to say why/how this happened... sounds like the same crap coming from our government over the Russian hacking of US! Even if they refund all the resources I had spent.... how I can trust things for the future?!?! I will have go work just as hard if harder when it released again if it is in an event... so better be prepared to go without sleep for 96hrs! Messed up! Or they do a Tuesday thing which MIGHT get one copy when I just earned 3 from the event! Or again it’s a special event thing like an anniversary or gift... where again we get what copy?!? When I just earned three!! Some would say this petty of me... I am just about done with this game.... pending how this customer support goes... I’m not hopeful ... but I think I’ll be done with this game.... this was the ultimate betray and backstabbing....
I am just holding my breath, how this situation can be resolved or better “how” it will be resolved.

I am not at liberty to give you more details as to why this decision had to made, and why the art cannot be changed again. I am sorry.
I get the the concerns, and the misgivings.
I am reiterating that this needs to be handled on a case by case basis, by submitting a ticket.
I am making sure that player support has a better approach on how to handle said tickets.
That is exactly the problem.
We are not told the reason and that leads to this anger and feeling scammed.
Writing tickets and getting standard replies and bad offers in reply happens a lot.
With the amount of mistakes in advertising lately i am starting to feel sorry for you and customer services and it starts to look like selling something and delivering a lesser product is a policy, counting on the fact that many will not complain because they do not notice, feel sorry for support or expect that they will not be taken seriously after previous experiences.
"Can not" is not the same as do not want.
Technically it is possible to change it back.
If there are other plans for the card it is not a case of impossibility (can not).
The only other acceptable "can not" would be legal reasons.
Maybe the artist does not want it to be used and owns the rights and not TP or WRG. Maybe the actress or studio is not happy with it and withdrew consent.
That would be valid reasons but even if TP is not allowed to say that you could just say "for legal reasons".
But TP is just saying.
Yes we gave you something else than what you paid for.
No we won't say why.
If your lucky maybe you get some partial compensation but not the product you bought.
And we can do it again and again and again.
***** You dear customer
You have no rights except to give us money and no guarantee that if you buy something you will get the product.
We may just keep the money and give you some token **tsk tsk**.
and that is our policy
That is the message TP WRG is giving to its customers.

A competent company would surely make sure that their standard contract with artists included a disclaimer that all work product is the property of WRG. As to image rights from the actor, that should have been signed off on in an iron-clad image use rights contract executed an extended period of time before last Wednesday........

Maybe they were saving it for a Christmas gift and we're like the bratty kids asking why they hid the PS5 that we clearly saw in the bottom of the wardrobe?
You’re comparing apples to oranges... but lll play along... to that I say.... Oh so we would get a single copy when I earned 3?! Still hardly seems worth it! I committed to what I saw, and had it of been something else I wouldn’t have committed to it! So unless they are willing to allow us get what we earned, what we paid for! It doesn’t compare.... to piggy back your PlayStation analogy.... you thought you got ps5... but instead you got 3 lesser versions of PlayStation like a 1,2, and a 3...... hope you’re happy!
@Prof. KakkoiiLady
In my defence, that post has to be taken in context with the post I posted prior to that, which just happened to fall onto the previous page. I didn't want to quote myself and as the posts were made within a few minutes of each other I thought that people reading 'live' would understand my feelings. I understand that a new post on a new page seems like a single comment on the situation.
My previous post made clear that I agree with everyone, was unhappy myself at the 'bait and switch' and that I had submitted a ticket. (which, on a separate thought, I don't feel we should have to as they may compensate me more highly than someone else). The post here was just a light-hearted Christmas thought, as this is exactly what happened in my house with my children yesterday!

So I submitted a ticket, and got the "standard" **tsk tsk** email response, no compensation at all, no offer or suggestion of what might make me feel better, just a link back to this forum.
Waste of f**king time.
Case by case basis my **tsk tsk**.
I think I'm taking a break from timelines for Xmas.

I got offered all my resources back in exchange for the card. It doesn't get me my time back but it seems acceptable on the surface. Just one BIG query though - if I hand back that card does the person at 1501 get it? Because that person expended resources that would have gained them the card if I had not expended my resources.
Like everyone, I was disappointed with the last minute change to the card art. But it is what it is! I decided to sleep on it and look at everything afresh the next day. Card art, name, stats, etc,... There are too many inconsistencies.
Most of the following have already been raised elsewhere on this thread, but here's my list:
Name: Wrong
This is Investigator Adira of the United Earth Defense Force, not Adira Tal. Description (Flavor Text) Wrong
This is from before they were properly joined. Traits Wrong
Human & Prodigy are correct. Trill, well they have the symbiont. But they are not joined. Musician, that was Gray Tal. (And after joining). Spiritual, not yet. (Again, after joining). Ship Ability Wrong
I am (not) Adira Tal. Skills & Stats Wrong
Engineering is correct. At this point probably their main skill. (Stats too low). Command, well they are part of the investigation team. But a Junior Officer. (Stats too high). Diplomacy, sorry, but no.
Conclusion
It wasn't just the wrong art used at the start of the event. It was the whole package! The name, information doesn't match the art. It does, (of course), fit with the originally released art. I would guess the information package for this art was no where near as good.
Come on TP/WRG, give us the correct name & information pack for this art, (however bad). Lets get this pain over and done with. (And deal with the consequences). That way Adira Tal can have their correct name & information pack whenever and however they are released.
Lets try and draw a line under this whole sorry mess. Then start again.

Just one BIG query though - if I hand back that card does the person at 1501 get it? Because that person expended resources that would have gained them the card if I had not expended my resources.
I just got offered the same. I appreciate the cordial reply from CS. And yes, on the surface it seems reasonable....
Until I think of the fact that it makes me extremely frustrated that someone who ranked over 1500 who actually wanted the card won’t have an opportunity to claim my returned one. And on top of that, what about those who ranked over 1500, spending resources to get the original art Adira, and wouldn’t have if they had seen the corrected artwork? They don’t have a card to return for their resources.
I want to reiterate something because I think it’s important the devs understand it. This isn’t whining about artwork, this is about acknowledging a mistake that cost real people time and resources. It’s the tepid response and apparent lack of respect for the players that is the issue. The simplest solution here is to either restore the original artwork, or give a global offering to everyone of the new snuggly Adira card when it’s eventually released. Maybe that will happen, but I’m not optimistic.
I can say for sure I will not be spending money on this game any longer. I couldn’t really afford to anyways, so maybe it’s for the best.
I'm shocked that WRG thinks exchanging the card for the boosts used is an acceptable resolution. To reiterate, this is 100% WRG's mistake, yet the "solution" penalizes the players by giving them nothing for the 4 days they spent ranking in an event.
I hope that this offer from CS means it's definitely NOT planned as a future fusion card. Offering to take away from people the thing that would later enable them to get what they'd originally wanted would be the very worst way to handle this.
I've had the same offer, but I think I'm not going to take it. I'd rather have an Adira than no Adira, personally - for me, it's more that the art was what spurred me to keep going when it got really competitive (halfway through the event I still hadn't managed to crack the top 1500 and that's when I started sending much bigger waves and burning through my tokens and boosts in a major way; I was on the fence about whether it was worth it until I looked again at the art and then committed). Buuut it's also the art that seems to have made it so competitive in the first place, so it's all a bit chicken and egg.
As well as the very valid points above about it not helping the people who just missed out on the top 1500, I don't know that this solution in any way helps the people who weren't interested in the original art but do like the new version, and would have played for it if they'd known it was the reward. There'll be a bunch of people who 350k-ed (or even 150k-ed) and out who that might apply to.
Yeah. I hardly have a dog in the race as i did not compete in this event. But for those who did, in my opinion 4 days of competing in a shuttle event is a high cost (setting frequent alarms, disrupted sleep, etc.)
From what I have seen, the offer to reimburse all used resources does not compensate for lost time, so I would probably suggest that all resources be reimbursed, but that the Adira card NOT be removed from inventory, as a means of compensation for that lost time. But, thats just my opinion. Again, i did not compete in this event, but it seems fair for those who did. (Including those who were “close” to being sub-rank 1500 but did not win an Adira)

This is precisely why a piecemeal response does not work here. There are too many ways players could’ve been affected by this, most of which have been noted in this thread. This situation calls for an acknowledgement and apology from WRG in the form of an in-game message from the dev team, including a global token of goodwill. It was done by DB with the Polywater Yar issue, and the Survivalist Kirk issue, to name a couple (and the Survivalist Kirk problem didn’t cost anyone time or resources). I know WRG is not DB, but an apology of that kind isn’t game breaking or unprecedented. It shows that you care about the players, and want them to continue their patronage.
Or at least level with us as to why you can't revert to the proper art.
Hypothetical. I don't watch it so I'll have to trust your take. Does any of the other art fall outside promo visuals or previously mentioned/seen characters and ships? Does the art on this card hint at or reveal details not included in promo, or from a season within 2 months of last airing?
If CBS decided over the weekend that this art was a "spoiler", and game studio showed up Monday morning to an email demanding it be pulled, would TP throw CBS under the bus? Or would they scramble to swap art and equipment from another approved 4* card and take the blame?
I'm am in no way intending to take away from the negative sentiment. People paid money and are not getting what was advertised. This was sloppy. Hammer CS and ensure the message gets the attention it needs. I just don't see making them reveal culpable details. One person ends up under a bus and they start pulling other people down with them. I'd love to know myself, but that not a hill worth trying to climb.
This sort of reminds me of a recent negative experience I had with a car dealership's service department. I still haven't responded to their survey requests because I'm still pretty irked. When/if I eventually give feedback to them (and to TP in this case) it would be this:
You need to do a better job of managing expectations. Ask anyone in my fleet, I'm forgiving to TP to a fault--however, this is just the latest in a long string of errors and the handling of the aftermath has been highly questionable from a customer relations standpoint. I personally am not bothered by the art change, but the art of a card has never been my primary motivating factor. However, I acknowledge that everyone has different motivations for what they do in the game and apparently card art is important to many people.
So I still haven’t gotten a reply after the initial F you email, but their response is to just take away the card for the boost refund?!! Are they serious? So my effort, my time, my disappointment, the insult of the bait and switch and initial responses are all worth nothing?!!!?
At a restaurant if the meal comes 30 min late or if they run out of your choice, they will comp the meal, or offer a free drink, something like that. Compensation should go above and beyond, people screwed shouldn’t have to make a choice just because you wanted the art later! TP: you screwed up, you angered people, it’s your fault, you fix things and make amends.
If a restaurant said: yeah the meals cold, either eat it or if you don’t want to pay for it, go home hungry. That’s exactly what TP just said.
Guess I’m not buying the campaign and daily card for the first time in 3 years. How do you screw up customer service this bad?

I put an example in this thread: https://forum.disruptorbeam.com/stt/discussion/14346/tips-and-tricks-for-posting-on-the-forum#latest
There's also some other forum tricks in there. Hope this helps.
"We understand that some of you may be disappointed. As a small guesture we include10 shuttle tokens and 2 booster packs.
If you feel this is not appropriate compensation please submit a ticket.
A competent company would surely make sure that their standard contract with artists included a disclaimer that all work product is the property of WRG. As to image rights from the actor, that should have been signed off on in an iron-clad image use rights contract executed an extended period of time before last Wednesday........

Merry Christmas.
Cheers StuGolfer
