Disciplinary Action For TP/WRG Mistakes???

Uh... the pack said "Buy Again".

For people like myself that may not have paid too much attention to the small text indicating this was a one time thing, calling this an "exploit" is beyond the pale.

I saw free stuff, I clicked the button. I saw "Buy Again", I clicked again. When I realized it didn't actually indicate what the cost was or wasn't debiting things, I stopped. But I did click a few times.

I can see how this new crew retrieval feature is helpful for a lot of players, but it's basically worthless to me. Claw back what I allegedly wasn't supposed to get. But disciplinary action? Nope.

Here's a thought: don't ship bugs. Giving us a button is not an exploit, that's developer incompetence. Don't blame your customers that you've trained to mindlessly tap buttons.

  • Greetings, Captains,

For a brief moment this afternoon the Daily Retrieve Pack that went live today at noon ET (17:00 UTC) had a bug where the purchase limit of one was not working.
    This has been quickly resolved.

This bug has been exploited by a small number of players, we are looking at disciplinary actions for those involved as exploits go against our terms of service.

We are also working on correcting the impact of this exploit, and will be making changes to the Daily Retrieval pack availability, these changes will be communicated via a separate communication.

    Thank you!

As I stated in fleet chat...

Let’s not get angry at a hypothetical. Let’s wait for an actual to get angry at...

@calsnowskier - In all fairness, THEY are the ones that immediately threw that out there.

Agreed. And I am fuming a bit by the vocabulary they used as well.

But let’s see what they mean by their use of words first.

It isn't hypothetical, I have less than I had before claiming their gift. Shocking behaviour from them.
  • So.

    I start with 3000ish ISM.

See their daily gift and claim it. Then it gives me the option to buy again. I do, maybe five times, I don't remember.

I log in three hours later to see they've take all my polestars and ism and I'm left with less than I had before their daily gift?!

    This is just disgraceful.

Same here. My ISM was zeroed out, and polestars, constellations and credits taken back to before the offer went live.

Unhypothetical enough? They are taking EVERYTHING out of some people's Inventories. Not just what they got today!

I know there was a glitch with getting infinitive constellations, but now everything that I had is now missing and It’s reset to zero.
    Mine is all zeroed.

There has to be regulatory agencies that they are overseen by. Taking actions against players, because their programmers can't code is beyond wrong. There was a big yellow button that said "PURCHASE AGAIN". None of us put that button there. They did. They are compounding incompetence with overt acts of dishonesty?!?!?

I like how they die on these hills when they allowed imbalanced actual exploits like IAP, the mailbox multitap, and players transferring commodities (like trainers) to each other.

Or the one where people spent 650 dilithium on a pack and got 1000 dilithium back? That wasn’t against the terms of service.

It’s amazing how fast they can fix a bug when it goes against them and not us

Ain't that the truth. How long did the $5 DYS exploit last before it was announced on the forum, to say nothing of how long did it exist?

I tell you what TP. If you want to punish me for your mistake you will refund me everything I've ever spent on this wretched game.

They collect our cashy folding money electronically. That makes anything that would involve law enforcement FEDERAL, since that counts as "across state lines".......

And had any of that happened when I made my statement?

    No.
  • Ha, they've banned me for 72 hours for their mistake. What the actual **tsk tsk**.

That's given me the incentive to kick this habit.

Fleetmates are now saying that as part of the "fix" DB is taking ALL of their ISM which includes any they already had before this pack went live. That is completely unacceptable. It's reasonable to take back what was gotten from that pack (though players should never be faulted for a poorly coded/configured part of the game) but you can't take back more.

The line must be drawn here, and no further!

If you're in the USA, I'd start with your state's attorney general. If they can't help they can likely direct you to an agency that can. Also contact Google/Apple and demand refunds for any and all monies spent on this game.
