Disciplinary Action For TP/WRG Mistakes???
Uh... the pack said "Buy Again".
For people like myself that may not have paid too much attention to the small text indicating this was a one time thing, calling this an "exploit" is beyond the pale.
I saw free stuff, I clicked the button. I saw "Buy Again", I clicked again. When I realized it didn't actually indicate what the cost was or wasn't debiting things, I stopped. But I did click a few times.
I can see how this new crew retrieval feature is helpful for a lot of players, but it's basically worthless to me. Claw back what I allegedly wasn't supposed to get. But disciplinary action? Nope.
Here's a thought: don't ship bugs. Giving us a button is not an exploit, that's developer incompetence. Don't blame your customers that you've trained to mindlessly tap buttons.

Wait. They are talking about penalizing players for their incompetence? That is the tackiest tacky thing I have ever heard of. Where did you get this rumor from? No way it is true!
😠😠😠😠😠
Let’s not get angry at a hypothetical. Let’s wait for an actual to get angry at...

@calsnowskier - In all fairness, THEY are the ones that immediately threw that out there.
Agreed. And I am fuming a bit by the vocabulary they used as well.
But let’s see what they mean by their use of words first.
I don't appreciate being characterized as some sort of cheater because I mindlessly clicked a button. The language Shan used is not acceptable, and I am normally a strong supporter of her messaging. This is already a dumpster fire.
Good to know.
How was the player supposed to know which of these is true:
1) purchase pack once, bugged pack that allows for multiple claims
Or
2) the text thst says Limit 1 is a typo/error.
Somehow the player deliberately exploited the game because the pack was poorly launched and coded?
Its terribly disappointing to see that after MONTHS of regular errors where the official answer from TP was "we are taking steps to improve our quality control measures" and now when there's YET ANOTHER quality control issue suddenly the player is to blame? Glad to know the assurance of "we will review our practices to better control mistakes" was nothing but empty talk.
So much for any goodwill the company had generated by the Crew Retrieval launch.
I start with 3000ish ISM.
See their daily gift and claim it. Then it gives me the option to buy again. I do, maybe five times, I don't remember.
I log in three hours later to see they've take all my polestars and ism and I'm left with less than I had before their daily gift?!
This is just disgraceful.
It isn't hypothetical, I have less than I had before claiming their gift. Shocking behaviour from them.
Much like others, I clicked the claim button and then clicked the buy again button, thinking it was a pleasant, unexpected surprise for the players. I did not do anything other than interact with the game as it was presented to me.
I will most definitely be raising this with customer service, and may quit playing if I am penalized for doing nothing but pressing buttons that appeared on my screen.
To @Shan and TP, I do not appreciate having an insinuation directed at me for exploiting the game and breaching the terms of service, when all I did was click a button in the app that appeared. I didn't program it. I didn't hack the app. I didn't use 3rd party software to exploit the app. A button appeared and I pressed it. If you don't like it, improve your quality control, don't insult and penalize players.
The line must be drawn here, and no further!
Same here. My ISM was zeroed out, and polestars, constellations and credits taken back to before the offer went live.
Unhypothetical enough? They are taking EVERYTHING out of some people's Inventories. Not just what they got today!
Or the one where people spent 650 dilithium on a pack and got 1000 dilithium back? That wasn’t against the terms of service.
In the past, I've been accused of being a TP apologist for stances I've taken on certain things, but the train of errors that they've been making for months has altered my perspective.
I have spent a large quantity (from my perspective--and easily and precisely calculated, mind you) of cash on this game. I have few regrets about it, but these kinds of decisions can make me change my mind about that.
Beyond disgraceful. I guess they won't be getting any of my Stimmy check. I see zero incentive to ever give them another penny. The proper "disciplinary action" would be to fire whoever smegged up. The players didn't make the mistake. The players clicked a big yellow button THEY put in the game that said "PURCHASE AGAIN".
Ain't that the truth. How long did the $5 DYS exploit last before it was announced on the forum, to say nothing of how long did it exist?
They collect our cashy folding money electronically. That makes anything that would involve law enforcement FEDERAL, since that counts as "across state lines".......
And had any of that happened when I made my statement?
No.
That's given me the incentive to kick this habit.
If you're in the USA, I'd start with your state's attorney general. If they can't help they can likely direct you to an agency that can. Also contact Google/Apple and demand refunds for any and all monies spent on this game.
