So, if I redo the Normal Track, can I get more Components? Elite and Epic {for sure} are out of my range until I get some people buffed.
If you pay the dilithium cost to reset, yes. You just can't control the components you get. I'm finding the lower tracks last week were sadly lacking in medical equipment, which prevented me from completing the top tracks. I'm at the point where I need to cut back on equipping certain gear on people for events or gauntlets and need to start saving it just so I can complete continuum missions.
Yeah. I'll skip then. Not paying Dilithium or Chronitons into it.
Thanx for the info, though!

@WRG Ben For me, the most annoying aspect about mistakes like this is the lack of communication following them. Why is it so hard for support team members to check the few new posts here and write a short note like "Sorry, we look into it and let you know"? This has worsened so much over time.

For all we know, there are only 4 members of the team, none of whom are full time on Timelines.
Nancy is clearly part time on STT. And instead of part time meaning a couple hours a day, it's a couple days a week. So on days when she's not scheduled to work on stt she doesn't check anything. Two days from now after everything is fixed she'll pop in with a note that she'll let the development team know.
I have no idea who thinks that's an effective way to run communication, but that seems to be how TP wants to operate.
It also explains why the event announcements are at confusing times. It needs to align with when she's scheduled to work on STT.
Quite irritating for me as I'm on the second half of my Quipment cycle. I buy 2 gold quipment for 1 of each skill crew, and use them to complete the hardest missions, then rush them the next week, so I use 12 pieces of quipment over 2 weeks. The delay launching here will basically cost me 6 pieces of gold quipment as a result.

And no one thought that tuesday and thursday when major things go live should be the 2 days.
This Continuum mission is taken from the Thursday cadet mission "Down Once More"
The mission rewards show a Shuttle Boost pack, which we don't get.
Most other continuum missions show starbase component rewards, that we also don't get.
These need to be removed from the continuum mission screens to avoid confusion.
Greetings Captains, we had some issues yesterday when setting u the Q missions and didn't go live until late. We apologize and you can collect 300 chronitons as compensation in Game. Thank you, LLAP

You didn't get the Shuttle Boost Pulls?!?!?

I'm starting to find some real problems with uneven equipment distribution. For example if I don't get enough medical or diplomacy equipment to populate in the early levels, I can't clear the later levels even though I have the right people with the right traits and all the gear slots unlocked. I find myself having to save gear just to clear continuum mission nodes, instead of being able to use that gear in other content for voyages/shuttles/gauntlets. And I can't exactly plan around any of this, it's all RNG.
I'm not sure how to fix it, but it seems like it could be tweaked to make gear drops be a little more reliable if we're making other changes.

I feel like this is the issue. The equipment drop is balanced for completing Continuum missions, not for equipping other crew. If you're using quipment for other purposes, then you're going to run short. If you want to use quipment for other purposes, then you need to use dil for extra runs to get more quipment.
There are definitely some components that drop less than others - seems quite erratic but maybe will balance out as the weeks go on.
Don't know if this is optimal strategy or not but I've found it best to race to the 4th mission and equip the best crew to beat Epic. More often than not, the same crew will then beat the easier challenges in missions 1-3, maybe saving components on equipping other crew. 1 reset a week and component stash is building nicely.
But I'm focussed on the Continuum at the minute - will look at gauntlet and voyage crew later once I'm sitting on a decent pile of components and crew. Y'all's mileage may vary.
Last week when my Quipment had mostly lapsed (in the Continuum I was rerunning Normal to open slots on more cards), I decided to stack my highest QP cards with the top skills of my current voyage (even if they weren't those cards' primary skill) to see what would happen.
I was pretty pleased with the result:
(I ran out of one of the Diplomacy components, hence ending up going heavier on the silver skill than the gold one.)
I used a token and got nearly four more hours out of it:
I contemplated using another as I was pretty sure I'd get two dilemmas out of it, but decided to recall as I was about to go to sleep so it was a better use of time overall to bring it home then.
No voyage beholds, but then I've never had a single one (I did get one straight drop of Black before the beholds started).
The legendary Quipment components drop from their respective skill nodes.
e.g. A command node will drop either Command Database Components, Command Research Components, or a random chance to drop any of the six Seminar Holoprogram Quipment (uncommon).
It seems that some nodes are more common than others. I think Medicine is under represented.
When making legendary Quipment, the core skill based Quipment needs seven Database, and seven Research components, a total of fourteen pieces.
The skill based Quipment often needs less, and often has better stats.
e.g. the Sword of Kahless needs six Security Database Components, and six Security Research Components, a total of twelve pieces.
This works out at 50% better stats per Quipment component.
The lower tier legendary Quipment is nearly as good as the core skill Quipment, but only needs five of each Component, a total of ten. (Some may need more).
So if you are only intending on using a couple of pieces of Quipment for a crew, it is worth looking at which crew can use trait based Quipment, and using the components more efficiently.
The Sacred Chalice of Rixx, only needs six components, it is top tier, but does not seem to have top tier crew for it.
Which 1500+ Nodes are they solving in Continuum Missions to unlock the Slots?
Scott, they will not be able to solve a node initially. You basically need one crew who can succeed on the final node. You can thus choose any two crew no matter whether they can solve a node or not.

So, we just need to solve the final Node for the XP? I did not know. Because if we are expected to clear every Node, there is usually not room for any "deadhead" passengers.
Thanx!

Ya, trying to figure out how to put deadwood in and still solve the missions with the least number of tries is hard. However, if one does not refresh the node rewards, it is a lot easier. That is, when you can throw in the last node solver with whoever you want to level.

In addition, they have Quipment available that gives them a huge boost to their skills. They're still not going to outperform a gold with Continuum boosts but if you have a low rarity crew you want to turn into the equivalent of an unboosted gold, you probably can.

Same thing here.

Science and Medicine Research Components
Command Database Components
These seem to be the sticking points. Much rarer than the other Components?
