Which 1500+ Nodes are they solving in Continuum Missions to unlock the Slots?
Scott, they will not be able to solve a node initially. You basically need one crew who can succeed on the final node. You can thus choose any two crew no matter whether they can solve a node or not.
In addition, they have Quipment available that gives them a huge boost to their skills. They're still not going to outperform a gold with Continuum boosts but if you have a low rarity crew you want to turn into the equivalent of an unboosted gold, you probably can.
Yes, 2* Tendi has been on voyages to fill thr nurse trait.
This weeks mission selection seem ideal for boosting weaker crew. This mission needs two runs with two crew at normal/elite. Put a third crew along for the ride. Mission one is three runs for two crew.

Yes, I was thinking that it could make 1* annd 2* about equivalent to a superrare. Of course, they lose a slot to get about equivalent. But it could make one skill very much equivalent to some of the better superrares.
I didn't think it was possible, but the Continuum gear has made the Gauntlet worse. It is truly terrible now; dare I say, it's completely unplayable. I've spent easily twice as many merits as I usual do and no where near a decent rank because of it (of course it's not as if rank does anything). And I already know what the results will be: nothing but a waste of two days of work.
I'm certainly never playing this part of the game again on a daily basis, and I'm debating whether it's worth doing for any OE's.

You're just saying that because people can give Defensive Phlox a 2000+++ Roll now on his heavy Skill. And also raise the minimum to where it no longer balances him out.....
On actual useful "bare" Crew, it makes them even worse.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
I'm running Decoy Kira on Elite so that when we get to Epic she'll have a slot open and I can give her the Orb of Prophecy & Change, which is overpowered even by Quipment standards.
I refuse to do them. It's ridiculous for the first level to expect you to WASTE Quipment to get nicknacks to make more Quipment. That is straight up nonsense.....
😕😕😕😕😕😕😕
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Took me three on normal and elite. Four on epic thanks to a bad roll. With one extra quipment it was still guaranteed in three on epic.
You need to think about your route, plan where you do/don't need to repeat the same crew, see which nodes can be intentionally lost during the run, and do the math to be sure your crew have enough quipment to handle it.
This was one of the few missions that has required thought and planning. I wish they were all like this.
MED - ENG - MED - SEC (fail) - DIP
MED (fail) - MED - SEC - SEC - DIP (possibly run twice to get second SEC)
MED (fail) - SEC - ENG - DIP - DIP (last dip only requires threshold, therefore one very strong DIP crew should suffice)
I didnt consider it an issue doing the top row, but boy did I have some choice words when I realized all paths ended at that DIP node and not at the end of their row.
MED - ENG - MED - SEC (fail) - DIP
MED (fail) - MED - SEC - SEC - DIP (possibly run twice to get second SEC)
MED (fail) - SEC - ENG - DIP - DIP (last dip only requires threshold, therefore one very strong DIP crew should suffice)
Bingo. Exactly what I planned. That double SEC was where I missed on an 80% crit. I tweaked my third and fourth run once I needed that extra SEC.
So I went:
MED (fail) - SEC - ENG - SEC - DIP
MED (fail) - SEC (fail) - ENG - DIP1 - DIP2
I could have made the final run with only 1 DIP, but once I needed the fourth run, this let me play it even safer and avoid the back to back DIP.
MED - ENG - MED - SEC (fail) - DIP
MED (fail) - MED - SEC - SEC - DIP (possibly run twice to get second SEC)
MED (fail) - SEC - ENG - DIP - DIP (last dip only requires threshold, therefore one very strong DIP crew should suffice)
Kol should clear both those sec nodes in one run.
First node 3726 (891-1489)
Second 80% of that. 2980 (712-1191) 3692-4171.
Mok'bara Worf is slightly better.
Bones McCoy with three items will hit 3200 on a second node.
I won't be able to see the actual nodes until after I hit Continuum this evening.
I refuse to do them. It's ridiculous for the first level to expect you to WASTE Quipment to get nicknacks to make more Quipment. That is straight up nonsense.....
😕😕😕😕😕😕😕
I think you're missing the point somewhat. You're not using up quipment to get more quipment, you're using quipment to get quantum and dilithium. And also to get more quipment than you use.
But if that's of no interest to you then fair enough.
Btw, some rather surprising crew I found to be extremely helpful:
Convergence Day Quark quipped with FCA Business Licence, Grand Nagus Scepter, Admiral Command Override, Hierarchy Optimization Research. Hits 4164 minimum on COM.
Mother L'Rell quipped with Shroud of the Sword, Neutrality Based Diplomacy, Interspecies Dining Etiquette, Replicated Flower Arrangement. Hits 4302 minimum on DIP.
Handler Worf quipped with Sword of Kahless, Code Red Security Override, Terrestrial Warfare Research, MACO Stun Baton. Hits 4642 minimum on SEC.
King Ridley, quipped with Good Samaritan Medial Override, Spinal Physiology for Non-Bipeds Research, Genitronic Replicator, Emergency Medical Mobile Emitter. Hits 4163 minimum on MED.
Surak, quipped with Kir'Shara, Stability Composite, Interstellar Composite Research, Psionic Field Receptor. Hits 4358 minimum on SCI
I don't have McCoy and Capt. Tribble immortalized yet, so I'm lacking the point of comparison with those two, who I suspect to be more powerful.

I should have been more specific that I was specifying my subjective opinion. Of course, anyone who does feel the benefits outweigh the input, is totally free to work on the higher Tracks. I'm mainly just getting bits & pieces in order to boost Crew.
Like the Shared Crew for Faction Events.
And to make some longer Voyages before having to burn Tokens to try and get past the "wall" to maybe get a shot at the new Dilemmas with a shadow of a chance of dropping the Voyage Specific Legendaries.

Kol, Bones McCoy, Decoy Kira. Med-Med-Sec-Sec-Dip. 100% on all three nodes.
This morning I completed my first pass through this weeks continuum. 33 runs which was the minimum needed.
I spent 50 of the 250 dil refreshing, and should be able to complete a second pass through all mission before reset.
I note that only 3 of the 31 nodes are medicine. 4 com, 5 sci, 5 eng, 6 sec, 8 dip.

I can get my McCoy up to a 4455 minimum on MED. I don't have all the slots on Capt. Tribble open yet, but once I do I can get a minimum of 4274 on COM. For me the real value on these one skillers (plus Demo Man Scotty) is that I can use them as Continuum specialists, freeing up others with high numbers to keep going on voyages.
I am unable to get Sidney Laforge to get to 90. She is 1 point short. Tried ground and space missions. I want to get the gold uniform that is part of the event but I can't if she won't level that 1 xp to level 90. Yes I am and could use any help.

Have you pressed the button to advance her to the 90-100 set of levels? That would be my first guess. You also have to put all the gear on her. And, technically, you have to get her to level 91 to get that achievement. Don’t worry, you’ll need to put a second legendary uniform on her to complete her build.
I can't get past the last normal mission on this week's continuum. The last one I need is Identify Borg Spokesperson DIP 1563. I've got a strong enough Odo and Thrax but can't get the right other crew to get me through. Who should I use?

Pick Odo and Thrax and anyone else, then deliberately fail all other nodes e.g. (use the 3rd crew) and save Odo and Thrax for the last two nodes. There is no penalty for failing nodes, other than if you fail the very last node.

Replicate the uniform, level her up to 91, and get the next free copy. If she is still 4/5 then she is a prime candidate for using a citation, as she will not be in the portal for a year.
In the long run, this will be worth the resources to get a top notch legendary.
In the future, there is a cheat to get levels early. Level each of the copies to either 10 or 20 before merging them.

Who did you use to finally get through? I can't get the DIP completed in the top row even though I have Two Odos and Thrax to complete it with due to the other crew necessary to get through it.
I can't remember. I think I did the "tank" the unnecessary Nodes thing.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
Technician Uhura from the honor hall is my go to for tricky DIP nodes when I don't have someone who can trait match. As a Communicator, she has access to the 4* DIP Quipment as well as all the standard stuff. Min roll of 3500ish before factoring in starbase and collection bonuses (and DIP is one of the most boosted skills overall).
But she does cost 300k honor once you factor in the cites as well.

You’re vastly overstating the problem. I sometimes see turbo charged gauntlet crew. I either pick an easier fight or just kick em in the teeth with my own buffed crew.
