there's nothing to revisit. it's not rocket science. moving every event participant to the next reward tier to compensate for the outage should be sufficient. as in top 1500 all get a Mirror Troi, and top 50 all get Mirror Troi x 2, and so on. but that would be fair, and DB doesn't do fair.
i will patiently await your next empty promise.
Unfortunately, that is not sufficient. Everyone, regardless of rank, was given a 1/5* character. That is not the same as moving everyone up a reward tier. Those who can use Picard will keep him, but those who did not, should get a legendary citation. Then and only then, does everyone involved actually get a useful 1/5* character, which was the intent of the original gift.
well, my solution didn't include any free Picards. there's already a few reports that people are getting a 50k honor compensation through submitting tickets to CS. that cat is already out of the bag.
i could care less for a 5th star on Picard. i pursued Mirror Troi for the gauntlet and tapping away to 623k VP and ending up 5k short because of the outage is no joke. that is what they have yet to resolve.
Ah, I see what you are saying. Instead of a free 5*, move people up a reward tier. That would have been a simple enough solution to benefit everyone before the current course of action was chosen.

50K Honor, since that is what a 5* Citation costs.
{I am not even going to suggest giving my {and other peoples} $25 back.}

That has been suggested, and while there are some potential problems with that after-the-fact, those problems are something for us to resolve, not the players.
I think the 50k honor idea will likely appease most people. Ideally it should only go to the people that already had a FF Picard, though I don't know if that's something that can be determined. Frankly I'd rather everyone get it, even with the disparity that would cause, rather than the rest of us getting nothing as we've all got now.
(Might also not be a bad idea though to throw in something extra as a goodwill gesture after all this. Sounds like a lot of hurt feelings in here.)
It was disappointing because my Picard was already 5/5 but lets not go overboard. It was a glitch the last five minutes of an event that only affected a few people that hadnt turned in their recipes yet. I think a Troi would have been better than a Picard but even if it had been a Troi people who had her already ff would be just as angry. Some people just go bananas over things like this but if you always go bananas every week it makes ur anger ineffective.
I’m now seeing on discord that some people got 50k honor added to their accounts when they sent a ticket in. I got told to pound sand. So glad you took steps to have consistent CS replies.
How are you guys even getting replies already?? I've still got a ticket out from last week that hasn't been addressed, much less one from today!

Yeah I've got an 8 days old one that I even then wrote back telling them to go ahead and close.... I was going to be surprised if I heard anything in two-three weeks. But wow, some folks getting responses today?
I’ve spent $1000 dollars and a year on this game, and I’m absolutely willing to walk away if it isn’t addressed.
I have been polite and understanding of all bugs and outtages I’ve had to deal with. But this is going to perminantly lose me as a customer, since I’m not giving that level of investment moving forward to be treated this way.
I’ll give it a couple days since nobody is in the office right now, but you want to handle this correctly. My ID is above if you want to verify my purchase history.

Yeah, this is now turning into an even bigger dumpster fire that shines a light on another glaring issue - CS RNG. A response, if any, needs to be unified. It was bad when we thought everyone was being told to pound sand. It’s WORSE now that some folks are getting 50k Honor back and others aren’t.
To follow up on what Shan posted earlier, all of us at Disruptor Beam are acutely aware that the Mirror Picard compensation that went out earlier today caused a significant amount of ire and disappointment among some players. We are also aware it's not just one concern, but includes a range of valid concerns including but not limited to perceptions on rewarding competitiveness, to citation redemptions, to players recently purchased the Double Your Crew Offer and others.
I'm not promising that anything will be done specifically about mailed-out Mirror Picard, but I can tell you that we will revisit it internally AFTER we do the various server pushes/client restarts tomorrow. And at a minium, we will keep you informed on what our plans may be.
In the meanwhile, I ask that you please keep your comments civil. It will make it a lot easier for us to parse through all of your comments.
So then listen to this and actually take it to your meeting. We have been feed the line that you herd us and are considering the issue for to long. DB history on saying you herd us and the not doing anything about it is as old as this game. And at best we get half steps and at worst we here nothing but we are hearing you. This does not need to be thought about it needs to be fixed. We paid you to participate in an event and we where shorted. To then "compensate" us with crew we where not competing for and whom a large portion of your players had gotten is insulting like. I hope I am clear! True, the glitch does affect people (how many I am not sure). How do you arrive at it only affecting a few people (It may have been mentioned be some DB rep. and I missed it)? The attempt at solving the problem clearly affects everyone, as it was either useful or useless.
If the intent is either to give people a useful 1/5* character or some variation between that and 5/5* character, then a legendary citation or 50k honor makes more sense... if the point was to benefit everyone, those two choices would appear to accomplish that objective (however, there is at least one instance it will not). Giving out a Troi would have run into the same problem.
And, what of people who missed, as a result of the glitch, a specific reward tier? There was at least one player in this thread who finished just outside the 1000 reward tier because of issues clearly beyond his/her control (when those charts, or whatever they were called, could not be redeemed). A citation or 50k honor may not help such individuals, if they did not receive a Troi (the instance where a citation or honor would not necessarily help).
And lastly, can DB comment on anyone supposedly receiving alternative compensation for their unused Mirror Picard?

The company as a whole has a looooong way to make amends with the player base for this mess. It was extraordinarily easy to create, but has spiraled far out of control. When even your most dedicated and huge spenders are closing their wallets without a second thought until they see the company do what is right, you have to know this was one of the worst PR moves the company has ever done. One small act caused a cascading mudslide of displeasure, anger, and distrust. The company's next moves within the coming days are vital to its health and the final decisions of your upset core of players.

Dear @Shan , could you please be so kind and forward this to the proper authority:
Dear Dirsruptor Beam, Inc.,
i am one of your customers, that was blindsided into purchasing a fifth star on legendary Mirror Picard using 50.000 honor just a few days ago. This honor included about a month of hard work on the game.
With giving away a free copy of legendary Mirror Picard at the end of Mirror Mega Event you have destroyed all my trust in the value of any in-game purchases.
Under this circumstances it is not possible to properly strategize and plan my gameplay anymore and i am not able to see any advantages from doing any purchase anymore.
Currently i see only one way to work this issue out:
Compensate any player who have purchased a copy of Mirror Picard by using honor or by using the Double Your Rewards offer with at least 49.450 honor or one legendary citiation via in-game mail on a per ticket basis.
Unless this issue is solved in this or an similar way, i will suspend all further in-game purchases, including monthly card.
I will file my first ticket about this issue tomorrow, 01/03/18, to give you the time to sort the things out and inform your customer service about it.
Yeah a useless gift thanks for nothing DB. It wouldn't be so bad if 650 honour was worth something!! Wallet is shut from now on
Perhaps useless to you - but for me, I did HAVE a Mirror Picard, and at 2/5*, so now he's 3/5*. A welcome gift for me, though I understand why others would have preferred a citation in this case. It just seems to me that people are more upset that this gift benefits others more than them.
Not everyone can afford to buy stars for their crew outright, or have good enough crew yet to win them in the event.

I don't argue with the fact, that others got a free copy of Mirror Picard, and i think most, if not all, ppl here don't argue with that neither. Regardless it gives some unfair advantage to the ppl who haven't played enough to get him (but honestly, we are already far behind such pedantic thoughts in this game).
I only argue with the fact, that i was blindsided to purchase an copy of Mirror Picard with 50k hard earned honor (or others paid about 25 bucks), coz i trusted in the point that he will not be available in any other way (at least not in the next year).
And i also don't want DB to call back the Mirror Picards, i just only want the honor back, that i have spent uneccessarily and that was initially planned to be spent on another character.

So try to imagine how you'd feel if you'd scraped together $25 (or 50,000 honor) last week to complete your Picard, and this week you found out that out of the blue DB had changed the way it did things and your purchase of a week ago was now useless? That you just burned your hard-earned or hard-won resources on nothing?
At least on my end, that's where the frustration lies. The message sent loud and clear was, "don't spend your honor or money on event characters; you can't trust us." If DB doesn't correct that message, they may trust that I - and others too, it seems - will listen to it.
So far, I'm waiting for clarity on how they intend to resolve this debacle, but if I'm not given satisfaction on my wasted £22.99? Monthly card only, & maybe not even that.
I'm a squad leader who's 4-person team placed in the top 100. We spend. Some lots, some not as much. My spending will be done....

When you play long enough (or paid like most people), you can easily score the 1/5 in mega events. It is a give away.
What **tsk tsk** is now I have to compete with many people who got a handout when I paid for mine. So I lost resources, got an extra card with zero value, and have to compete on a higher tier. So many other things could have been done.
But drunken brain damaged monkeys are gonna be drunken brain damaged monkeys .
They could avoid all of these headaches and out cries if they would just give out citations instead of crew. Give us a legendary citation and then if someone wants to use it for Picard they can, but if someone already has Picard FF, they can add a star to a different crew
First 6 "bonus" tickets to ruin everyone's Xmas, and leave many who planned their event in advance without a Mirror Beverley...
Now a Mirror Picard that absolutely no one wanted - to compensate for the 5* Mirror Troi some captains missed out on with end-of-event lag?
Not sure who is dreaming up the "compensation" at DB, but it is not only missing the mark - it's a negative to players.
I'm one among those who couldnt play in the last day because I have planned my event considering the original schedule due to Christmas activities. That surely caused me to lose a top 1000 rank and a 5* Mirror Beverly.
Now, after spending 50k honor to FF Picard, they simply give it for free to everyone... It's totally unfair with those who spent real money and/or honor on him.
This so-called mega-event, turned out in a mega-mistake.
I, just like many other players/customers, sincerely hope that DB will come up with a reasonable and fair solution.
Yeah a useless gift thanks for nothing DB. It wouldn't be so bad if 650 honour was worth something!! Wallet is shut from now on

Not everyone can afford to buy stars for their crew outright, or have good enough crew yet to win them in the event.
That is not why the majority of people are upset. Those of us that had Picard FF during the event had an advantage over others who did not. The issue we have is that they have advertised, since May, that these Mega event exclusives can be obtained through the month four times to create a 4/5, while the last star needed to FF them needs to be purchased by another means, either by the double-crew offer that appears for money or via a 5* Citation with Honor. We all bought that fifth Picard with one of those only methods available to do so because that is what DB had advertised for months. Then, out of the blue, after the Mega event wrapped up, they gift everyone that fifth Picard, making the efforts a lot of people went through to get that last star null and void.
It was deceitful on their behalf to throw that curveball at us because it then became false advertising on their behalf; why did we buy the last star if it was just going to be handed to us, after we had three other Mega events following the original formula? Many low-paying and completely free-to-play players spent months saving up 50,000 Honor to use on a 5*; they only obtain so much Honor by not spending a dime or very little money over a long period time, so that 50,000 Honor was literally just thrown away for nothing. Some of them literally used that Honor for a Citation not even an hour before the message containing Picard went out. People like me who spent the $25 on the double-crew offer could have spent that $25 elsewhere in game if we had known the fifth Picard was going to be granted anyway; we also bought him to get him FF and eventually immortalized, not just to have any sort of edge in the event (he helped me, but not by much).
What would have been a much better gift is 50,000 Honor to cover a 5* Citation (or whatever else anyone wanted to spend it on or save it), or an outright 5* Citation if they did not want to give out a 5* Mirror Troi (this was all, partly, anyway, in response to the major server hiccups that occurred toward the end of the event, resulting in players not being able to complete it and place lower than where they would have ended up. A lot of people think it was already pre-planned to send everyone a fifth Picard and the server issues were a cover to do just that).
That is why we are mainly upset. Others may have other reasons, but the core issue surrounding this I posted above.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.

I think what a number of people are up in arms about is not so much that a Mirror Picard was given to everybody, but more the fact that this was presented not just as a gift, but as compensation for the server downtime at the end of the event.
That's kind of my main reaction, but I am also a little peeved that I spent $25 I didn't have to spend. I have a 2nd account and I'm glad to have another copy of Mirror Picard there, but on my main account, I paid for a double-up offer on him a few weeks ago... and I did so with the understanding that the threshold rewards in the mega-event would be the only place to get him (like it was in the previous mega-events). So finding that to not be the case is frustrating.
However, I think it's not really a great compensation for those people whose rank was severely affected by the server issues at the end of the event. I don't fall into that category myself, as I opted not to play the 2nd phase at all, feeling that it wouldn't be worth the price I'd have to pay, especially considering the extra day of play. But I get the anger, and I hope DB does right by everyone who submits a ticket for that.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"

So, business as usual, then, for DB's Customer DisService?
Looks like they are doing the right thing... Just got my Honor refunded.
BlackPebble,
If some players got 50,000K honor added to replace a citation, then all should. I am one that also used a citation to FF Mirror Picard before this past event, so I had a 5/5 Picard to share with my squad. Now I feel that I wasted 50,000 honor.

Unless this issue is solved in this or an similar way, i will suspend all further in-game purchases, including monthly card.
I will file my first ticket about this issue tomorrow, 01/03/18, to give you the time to sort the things out and inform your customer service about it.
Sincerely yours,
VIP5
I hope this clear things up for you.
DB= Done Buying!!!!.

BlackPebble,
If some players got 50,000K honor added to replace a citation, then all should. I am one that also used a citation to FF Mirror Picard before this past event, so I had a 5/5 Picard to share with my squad. Now I feel that I wasted 50,000 honor.
And if the rumors are true, that DB planned to give out the 5th Picard all along and tried to kill 2 birds with one stone, that makes it doubly deceitful.
But that's just a rumor.
