The comment above by Unkie B should clear things up. They are a subspecies with distinct physiological differences that are more than skin deep, end of story.
Thanks to Shan for removing the racist comments and getting the thread back on track.
As if Shran was a geneticist. Judging from the comments on this thread, people getting race and species mixed up, etc etc it is not entirely certain that "a kind of sub-species" should be taken as gospel. Since they haven't had contact for some long period of time, and keep themselves largely separate, how likely is it that even the Andorians / Aenar know how different genetically they are? Since they can clearly easily interbreed (Talla, Thelin http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Thelin_th'Valrass) I'm not convinced at all!
As I said above, Humans and Vulcans can interbreed. That means something in my field of Biology, but it doesn't hold any water in the Star Trek universe.
To me, the incredible telepathic abilities of the Aenar mean that they are probably more of a distant relative than a recent branch off of the evolutionary tree. If the latter were the case, you would surely see some residual of telepathic ability in Andorians.
Of course, this is a rather silly conversation, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless.
Was there an Enterprise episode or two where they tried to explain that Humans and Vulcans couldn't originally interbreed and Phlox was working on figuring it out*? I could be remembering incorrectly, been a while.
*I'm not saying that makes any more sense, for the record.

I honestly can't remember. Didn't Trip and T'Pol have a child? Was their genetic material stolen? I can't remember. That story was all kinds of messed up. That last season was so weird I'd lost it by that point

There was the alternate timeline in season 3 (episode E^2) when they did indeed have a son and then the two-parter at the end of season 4 featured a baby cloned (poorly) from genetic material stolen from them (in Demons and Terra Prime).
Bonus crew:
• high bonus: event crew and Prisoner Katrina Cornwell
• small bonus: variants of Mudd, crew with the Andorian trait and all Discovery crew.
List of current additional Discovery crew:
Suus Mahna Sarek
Prospect Michael Burnham
Away Team Saru
First Officer Burnham
Graduation Michael Burnham
Tactical Michael Burnham
Prisoner Michael Burnham
Dr. Hugh Culber
Desert Philippa Georgiou
Armed Philippa Georgiou
Captain Lorca
Vengeful L'Rell
Harcourt Fenton Mudd
Torchbearer Rejac
Sarek
Lieutenant Commander Saru
First Officer Saru
Reinforcements Stamets
Ripper
Cadet Sylvia Tilly
T'Kuvma
Celebratory Ash Tyler
Lt. Ash Tyler
Torchbearer Voq
However, it’s worth noting that Commander Thelin is on the list, and while he is indeed bonus crew, as an Andorian, he is not from Discovery. And the other Andorians are not included in that list, either. (:
Just in case anyone was wondering, since many haven’t seen DSC, and not all of us have seen TAS, either.
My bad, not sure how it got there -_-
Fixed, and the list is indeed for Discovery crew only as it is not searchable in the crew filter.

Do full galaxy events usually have event factions? What is the purpose?
They are who you are crafting supplies to help, in Phase Two
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
I'm a little hesitant to go for it on this event, but Mudd with his (Andorian?) space helmet is making me want to spend a good chunk of chrons to get him. I can now only hope their stats are good.
Art is good again but...I'm just not thrilled about the crew. I'll probably just do the thresholds and airlock all non-Cornwell crew. Unless someone has amazing stats.

They had their DNA stolen and a child was born (in a surrogate?), but it died as an infant because of genetic anomalies or something. Obviously that was figured out in the near future, before Spock was born.
I see that the artwork is deteriorating again. Lissan is alright, Landry is barely recognisable, and that Mudd is awful. It looks like his head is melting.
I wanted to get Landry so that I could begin immortalizing her instead I got Lissan, at least her 1/5 is semi-useful with high base dip and for gauntlet.

I think Landry looks quite a bit like the majority of her Discovery counterparts in quality. This Mudd looks better than the previous Mudd imo, because it's not got that weird thing they did to Mudd and Da Vinci where their beards looked like felt costume pieces. I had hoped he'd be wearing the helmet instead of just holding it, though.

I need to see Lissan's stats immortalized before I know whether to drop money. But I don't think she is worth it. She might have a nice boost range, but her base stat seems low, I doubt it will go much beyond 1100, which isnt impressive for the primary stat on a duo stat legendary.

Thanks for info. But I usually just stay in the forum and game. So I do enjoy reposts of graphics here.
