(You guys should put spoilers on your comments as many have not seen season 1 yet.)
My feelings about Tilly aside, at what point are we past the spoilers period? It's been a years since the first half of the first season ended, and we are coming up on season 2. I get this is a byproduct of the new television economy but it's hard at this point to not discuss it.
The reason we are not past the spoiler point is because Discovery is available only by paying for CBS unlimited. All the others were originally available free (or without excess cost if you had TV and cable anyway) on TV. They are now all available on Amazon Prime and (I believe) Netflix. No additional cost or trouble. I want to watch Discovery, but I can't do it in a week and I won't pay for CBS when there is nothing else I want from it.

Anyone else think these skirmish event packs are crap? $100 for only 2 Spocks plus a bunch of schematics? Uh, no
If you're talking about value for the dollar, I won't debate that with you. Value is in the eye of the beholder (and it's too pricey for me). But...
The actual offer is 2x Spock, a bunch of schematics (some of which might actually be the featured ships in the event), AND 10 event packs that allow you to potentially pull one or more Spocks. With some RNG luck, you could walk away with a FF Captain Spock. You could also walk away with just a 2/5 Spock.
Also, this offer is identical to the $100 offer each and every week. The only change is that they also throw in the ship packs when it's a skirmish event.
I got that luck. I started with a single copy of Burnham. Picked up the pack to get Spock, some Burnhams/Odos, and hopefully some Enterprise A schematics. My 10 guaranteed event crews were 3 Spocks, 3 Burnhams, and 4 Odos. Plus 400 Enterprise A schematics, a 5* behold and three 4* beholds.

Shouldnt an odo variant have changeling as a trait?
This is admittedly kind of a weird form of a variant, but no — not when the variant has never been a Changeling. Just like Benny Russell isn't Starfleet or Federation.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"
Only Lorca, Landry and Saru were interesting as characters. And two of them were killed off.
What was interesting about Landry?
Oh let’s shoot Ripper. Oh it killed her. What a shock. Just a hot head security officer. About as subtle as a brick through a window.
You could see that there is more than it meets the eye.
She was a battle-hardened veteran who was under a lot of stress.
It is possible that she has PTSD.
That is a great potential for a story, imagine an alternate story in which we discover her human side, a reason why she is acting the way she is acting and then a complete breakdown of her when she starts crying abou how far she has gone because of the war and then she slowly starts accepting her humanity.
Yes, but you could say that about most of the characters on DSC. I think that you just happened to like Landry and hoped that she would get a more interesting place in the plot (nothing wrong with that).
But I do partially agree with you, as I think that the ones who had the most interesting character arc where Lorca, Saru, L'Rell and Cornwell, which was kind of strange because only two of them were part of the main characters and only one of those two will still be around after season 1. I mean, I was happy with it, since I loved all of them, but I hope that the actual protagonists will get more development and will become more interesting in the future seasons.
Also, DB, can we please get a 4* version of Lorca and L'Rell and maybe a less frightened-looking 4* Cornwell too some day?
was obviously under Lorca's spell, he was after all very charming, and I always thought there was some love interest there, and he used it. Plus, she was damaged and Lorca liked the damaged and the weird, unusual crew. The misfits who would be less likely to question him. He was insanely smart, charming and utterly ruthless. He built that crew so he could do what he did because with a standard Starfleet crew he wouldn't have gone anywhere. Even Cornwell he had under his thumb, though that was mostly by chance. I mean seriously, that was some good plot development throughout the season and you have to look very deeply at why Discovery was so very weird and un-Star Trekky and why it took us ages to get into it. Clever stuff imo. Though sadly, people need to be spoon-fed a bit and it's a shame Burnham's little speech at the end was so horrible I had to switch the thing off. Shouldn't have been so ruddy blatant, but I guess they needed to throw a bone to those who would undoubtedly question the darkness of the season.

Well, that explains why I couldn't bother to watch the second half of season one..... It wasn't Trek

Well, to be honest
the Lorca plot twist was nothing new to Star Trek. Villains impersonating main characters and rogue Starfleet captains (Ransom) have existed before. It may have been the first time that it happened over several episodes, right in season one and in such a way as to actually be a surprise to viewers. Also, without the good PU version ready to replace the impostor as soon as he revealed himself. That may have been a bit upsetting to those who loved the character, but it wasn't that far from previous Star Trek plots at all.

Wouldn't this also apply to army chaplain Odo who was a non-canon Odo variant? Im assuming Douglas Pabst is also a non-cannon Odo? Or did i miss something and hes actually canon?

I'm going to Vegas.
Congrats @Hammersmith52 ! Now you get to decide if your weekend is done, or if you have the time to push for high rank - 'cause you've got the crew to do it.
For me, the missions seem to be much easier than last skirmish.
I don't see a lot of Boarding Damage this round. My goal is to punch the other ship dead before they can launch instant hull damage. This round I don't seem to have that challenge.
I have to say that I appreciate that the skirmish battles are significantly less tedious than last time. No more 2M effective HP reliant or klingon ship with an obnoxious damage buff on the way. I have thought about making a joke with the title of this skirmish and compare it to my real life but now i can't.

Delurking in the forums (have been playing about 8 months but never posted) to thank the software designers for scheduling a Skirmish for Thanksgiving and encourage you to do it every holiday. As this was the holiday family had a meltdown, I am having a very gratifying experience blowing ships to smithereens over and over again to de-stress. Would not nearly be as cathartic if it was a pure galaxy or faction event.
Oh, nice anti-bot feature as well for this one. At least I think that's a new feature as I haven't seen it before.

Well, to be honest
What you are referring is actually a TNG feeling because in TOS they aren't actually acting like that and Starfleet is a military.
So even without that twist because it's an early Starfleet in the war with Klingons I could accept that.
Actually it's closer to Enterprise Era (remember season 3) than TNG era.

The way I think of it is this: would we call Herbert Rossoff a Ferengi? No, that would be silly. Therefore, Douglas Pabst should not be a Changeling.
Way out of line here. Shan REMOVE!!!
